Executive summary This clip shows one of our aluminum profile packaging lines in the shop: a worker feeds profiles, film is applied through the applicator (3,000–7,500 mm length range), a wrapping ring continues the cover, and wrapped profiles leave on a multi-level rack. Below we walk through the stations, list the published 10–12 pcs/min speed for 6 m profiles, and set out the checks before a line is built for your extrusion output.

What the clip shows
| Station on screen | What is visible |
|---|---|
| Infeed | A worker in a white hard hat feeds long aluminum profiles into the line |
| Film applicator | Blue roller and film path on a white-and-grey base with red/orange components |
| Wrapping ring | Ring mechanism continues the cover along the profile length |
| Conveyor | Long roller conveyor carries wrapped profiles toward the outfeed |
| Finished rack | Multi-level conveyor rack holds finished profiles |
| Controls | Panel with screen, buttons and lights; foot pedal used during the cycle |
| Materials | Rolls of red-and-white patterned film or tape on a wooden pallet beside the line |
The factory wall carries our packing-solutions branding. Yellow warning symbols sit on the machine. Concrete floor, well-lit hall.
How the film applicator and line work
The operator feeds each profile into the applicator entrance. A driving device holds the profile and moves it through the film stations. The machine checks length and cuts film to match before the film is pressed onto the faces. A wrapping ring can add a full cover around the section where the project needs it. Wrapped profiles then run on the conveyor to the gathering rack for unloading.
| Part | Role |
|---|---|
| Infeed / press-down drive | Holds and moves the profile through |
| Film cutting | Pre-cuts film to the measured length |
| Film applicators | Press film or tape onto the faces |
| Wrapping ring (when fitted) | Continues cover around the section |
| Outfeed conveyor and rack | Collects finished profiles |
The usual manual method needs two people (feed and cut). An automatic applicator is sized so one operator can keep the line fed.
Aluminum profile film applicator specifications
Published range for our aluminum profile film applicator:
| Item | Specification |
|---|---|
| Machine size (applicator module) | 3,500 × 800 × 1,500 mm (L × W × H); conveyors extra |
| Profile length | 3,000 to 7,500 mm |
| Profile width | 10 to 200 mm |
| Profile height | 10 to 150 mm |
| Packing speed | 10 to 12 pieces per minute for 6 m profiles |
| Total power | 6.75 kW |
| Covering material | Protective film or tape |
A full packaging line adds conveyors, the wrapping ring and the finished rack to match the extrusion output and the faces that must be covered.
Selection checklist for a profile packaging line
- Profile length, width and height against 3,000–7,500 mm / 10–200 mm / 10–150 mm.
- Faces to cover, and film or tape for each face.
- Whether a wrapping ring is needed after the face applicator.
- Profiles per hour against 10–12 pieces per minute for 6 m profiles.
- Space for infeed conveyor, outfeed conveyor and gathering rack.
- Operator access and guarding at the infeed nip.
Controls and safety
In the clip the operator feeds by hand at the entrance, close to the driven rollers. Hands near the infeed nip are the move to design out: we guard the entrance so the profile enters from the conveyor, with no hand inside the nip.
Stop, isolate and lock out before anyone clears a jam, changes a film roll or reaches past the entrance guard.
The standards that apply depend on the destination market. For CE markets, ISO 12100 sets the risk-assessment method and EN 415-10 covers general requirements for packaging machines, which fixes guarding and the emergency-stop arrangement.
Engineering FAQ
Q: Which profile sizes does the applicator take? A: Lengths from 3,000 to 7,500 mm, widths from 10 to 200 mm and heights from 10 to 150 mm.
Q: How fast does it pack? A: 10 to 12 pieces per minute for 6 m profiles.
Q: How does it cut the film to length? A: It checks the length of each profile as it enters and pre-cuts the film to that length before application.
Q: Does every line include a wrapping ring? A: No. The face applicator is the base station; a wrapping ring is added when the project needs a full cover around the section, as in the clip.
Q: How many operators does the line need? A: One operator at the infeed; the usual manual method needs two (feed and cut).
Q: What power does the applicator use? A: Total power is 6.75 kW.
Q: What covering materials can it apply? A: Protective film or tape on the selected profile faces.
Next step
We size an aluminum profile packaging line in three steps:
- Submit your layout drawing with profile sections, lengths, faces to cover and output, to info@fhopepack.com.
- Receive a proposal within 48 hours, with the applicator, wrapping ring (if needed) and conveyor layout.
- Book a site survey so we confirm the extrusion line, conveyor space and guarded infeed.
