Coil Packing Line Project Timeline & Lead Times | FHOPE
Our coil packing line project stages from quotation and layout to manufacturing, delivery in 90–150 days, installation, commissioning and site acceptance.

Coil Packing Line Project Timeline: From Design to SAT
Buyers usually ask two questions about an automatic coil packing line project: how long it takes, and what happens at each stage. Below is how our projects run, with the lead times we quote.
Stage 1: Coil Data and Line Layout
We start with your coil range (weight, OD, ID, width), required output, packaging specification and site layout. With these we prepare the line configuration and a layout drawing.
We size the line by its slowest station. For example, a down-ender can take 20–60 s per coil depending on the model, and strapping takes about 15–20 s per strap.

Stage 2: Quotation and Order
Our quotations list each station, the main component brands, the spare parts and the terms. Typical terms are a 50% down payment by T/T and the 50% balance before delivery.
Stage 3: Engineering and Manufacturing
| Equipment | Typical delivery after down payment |
|---|---|
| Coil packing line (down-ender + wrapper + controls) | about 90 days |
| Larger lines with coil cars and eye-through wrapping systems | about 120 days |
| Automatic radial steel coil strapping machine | about 150 days |
These are factory lead times after the down payment; ocean freight and on-site installation are added on top.
The engineering documents we supply include the CAD wiring diagram, terminal diagram, control panel diagram and PLC program (STEP7 for Siemens).

Stage 4: Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
After building, we run and debug the machine in our factory, and you inspect it there.
Alternatively, you can accept the machine remotely: we test-run it and send inspection videos and photos.
Stage 5: Shipment
Machines ship in standard export packing, or by FCL container on larger projects.
Switch cabinets are about 800 mm wide on small machines and 1200–1600 mm on medium machines; on large lines the cabinet system ships in units no wider than 3600 mm.
Stage 6: Installation and Commissioning
Our engineers handle installation and commissioning on site. Meanwhile, the customer prepares the foundations, power and compressed air (see our site preparation guide).

Stage 7: Site Acceptance (SAT) and Handover
After installation and commissioning, you run the machine on site for the site acceptance test. Typical on-site durations are 1–2 days for small machines, about 1 week for customized machines, 10–15 days for large customized machines, and about 30 days for a large complete project.
Operator training takes 1–3 days (3 days on automatic lines). After handover the 2-year warranty starts, and we provide lifetime technical support.

FAQ
How long does a coil packing line take? About 90 days after the down payment for a standard line (down-ender, wrapper and controls). Larger lines take 120 days, and radial strapping machines 150 days, plus shipping and on-site installation (from 1–2 days for small machines to about 30 days for a large complete project).
What documents do I receive? CAD wiring, terminal and control panel diagrams, the PLC program (STEP7 for Siemens), and a spare parts list.
Who installs the line? Our engineers install and commission it on site.
What warranty starts at handover? A 2-year warranty, plus lifetime technical support.
