Compare Coil Packing Line Suppliers | FHOPE
A lower price with a weaker scope is often the more expensive option. This guide shows how to demand evidence behind every claim and score coil packing line suppliers on scope fit, not the headline number.
How to Compare Coil Packing Line Suppliers: Scope, Evidence and Service
How to Compare Coil Packing Line Suppliers: Scope, Evidence and Service
Two quotations for a "coil packing line" can describe very different machines. To compare them fairly, put the scope, the technical evidence and the service terms side by side. Below is the checklist we would use to compare automatic coil packing line suppliers, with our own answers as a reference. FHOPE has built packaging machinery since 2014.
1. Station Scope Checklist: Turnstile to Strapping
| Station | Ask the supplier | FHOPE standard (example) |
|---|---|---|
| Turnstile / coil car | Included? Load per arm? | Turnstile: 10 t per arm, 40 t total |
| Down-ender | Minimum coil width, cycle time | 15 mm minimum; 20–30 s per coil |
| Wrapper | Overlap range, materials | 20–90% overlap; stretch film, paper, VCI, woven belt |
| Edge protection | Automatic? Inner or outer? | Optional device applies outer edge protectors automatically; inner edge protectors are fitted manually or by robot |
| Strapping | Strap type, number of straps | PET through-eye, 3/4/6 straps; steel strap for radial strapping |
| Weighing & labeling | Included? ID/OD labels? | Weighing, printing, ID/OD labeling |
| Controls | PLC brand, data interface | Siemens PLC (AB/Mitsubishi on request); Profinet; MES/ERP data sharing |

2. Evidence: Can the Supplier Prove the Numbers?
- A technical data sheet for each station, with units
- A main component list with brands
- Electrical documents: wiring, terminal and panel diagrams, and the PLC program
- Videos of comparable lines in operation
- Reference projects (we share references on request, with the customer's permission)
The image shows a group at the Fhope factory entrance. Factory visits and reference installations are part of the evidence, but the evidence still needs to be specific: which coil range, which package specification, and which test record.

3. Commercial Terms
| Term | What to check | FHOPE standard |
|---|---|---|
| Delivery time | Days after down payment | About 90 days (compact line) to 150 days (radial strapper) |
| Payment | Split | 50% down payment, 50% before delivery (T/T) |
| Warranty | Length and coverage | 2 years |
| Efficiency | Guaranteed figure and how it is measured | 98% efficiency rate: with normal maintenance, the machine runs normally at least 98% of the time over a full year |
| Support | After warranty | Lifetime technical support |
4. Service
- Installation and commissioning: ask whether the supplier's own engineers do the work. Ours do.
- Training: ask what is included. Our standard training takes 1–3 days (3 days for automatic lines); an extra production-accompaniment service package is available.
- Spare parts and tools: ask for the list. We supply a starting set of spare parts and a tool box.

5. Score the Quotations
Weight the criteria by your own risk. For example, a plant with no in-house automation team should give more weight to documents and support.
FAQ
What is the most common difference between quotations? The scope: which stations are included, and whether edge protection and labeling are automatic or manual.
Which documents should a supplier provide? Data sheets per station, a component brand list, electrical diagrams (wiring, terminal, panel) and the PLC program.
What warranty do you offer? A 2-year warranty and lifetime technical support.
Do you guarantee efficiency? Yes. We guarantee a 98% efficiency rate: with normal maintenance, the machine runs normally at least 98% of the time over a full year.
