Executive summary This clip from our workshop shows our inline turntable pallet wrapper wrapping a tall load. The orange turntable has a roller-conveyor deck, so the load can run on and off in line with the conveyors, while the film carriage travels up and down the mast. What the clip shows
The clip is filmed in portrait in our workshop.

Because the turntable deck is a roller conveyor in line with the infeed and outfeed, the load can arrive and leave on conveyors with no forklift at the wrapper.
Why an inline turntable
- No forklift at the wrapper. Loads run on and off the turntable rollers.
- One level. Turntable, infeed and outfeed sit at the same height, so loads pass straight through.
- Height sensing. A sensor measures the load height, so the carriage wraps to the top of each load.
- Layers and zones. Wrapping layers and zones are set on the panel, so the base and top can get extra film.

Film use with pre-stretch
Worked example (illustrative). With 200% pre-stretch, 1 m of film off the roll is stretched to 3 m on the load. A wrap pattern that lays 300 m of film on the load therefore uses 300 ÷ 3 = 100 m from the roll. Without pre-stretch the same pattern would take the full 300 m.
Selection checklist
- Load length, width and height.
- Load weight against the 2,000 kg turntable rating.
- Loads per hour.
- Conveyor height and direction in and out.
- Top sheet, film cut-off and top plate options.
- Film type and pre-stretch needed, as on our inline pallet wrapper factory test.
Safety
The turntable rotates a heavy load and the carriage moves up and down the mast. We guard the turntable zone to the risk assessment and fit soft start and stop, so the load does not jerk. For CE markets we apply ISO 12100:2010 for the risk assessment and EN 415-6:2013 for pallet wrapping machines.
