Automatic Pipe Coiling and Wrapping Machine for Hose and Plastic Tubes

What the machine does

The machine in the video counts the length, winds a corrugated hose on a winding head, cuts it and bands the finished coil with clear film. That sequence sets four sizing inputs: tube OD, length per coil, coil window and how the coil is secured.

Our equivalent solution is an automatic hose coiling machine. It calculates the tube length, makes the coil, cuts the tube, then holds the coil and moves it to the next station automatically. A sensor detects the tube position, and a pressing device keeps the coil fixed and stable while it is secured.

The coiling OD and the cutting length are both adjustable on the control program. Illustrative example: a 20 mm corrugated hose fits the FCL-600B or FCL-600C, and a 25 mm hose needs the FCL-600C.

Will your length fit the coil?

Check the winding space before you choose. For a 20 mm hose on the FCL-600B with a 250 mm ID, 500 mm OD and 150 mm height:

  1. Layers. (500 − 250) ÷ 2 ÷ 20 = 6.25, so 6 layers.
  2. Turns per layer. 150 ÷ 20 = 7.5, so 7 turns.
  3. Total turns. 6 × 7 = 42.
  4. Length. The mean diameter is 375 mm, so 42 × π × 0.375 = about 49.5 m.

That is within the 100 m meter counter. Corrugated hose packs less neatly than this square pattern, so we confirm the coil size on a trial with your hose.

Our cable coiling and wrapping machine wraps the coil in film at the end of the line and coils at up to 200 m/min. For hose and tube, the hose coiler connects with an automatic strapper, or we pass the coil to our FPH-200N hose coil wrapper, which takes coils of 250–650 mm ID and 450–800 mm OD. We choose the option by your product and shipping needs.

Operator load

For cable and wire, our coiling and wrapping line lets one person work 5–8 lines at the same time, because the operator only reloads film. Up to 20 cable and coil size formulas are saved in the program for quick changeovers between shifts. An optional device inserts a label inside the film wrap automatically.

The coiler detects errors automatically and alarms when trouble occurs, and two guards hold and move the coiled tube. The standards that apply depend on the destination market. For CE markets, ISO 12100 sets the risk-assessment method and EN 415-10 sets general requirements for packaging machines.
