Arm stretch wrapper with top sheet dispensor

This article is based on the demonstration video embedded below. The video shows an arm stretch wrapper with an integrated top sheet dispenser: a rotating arm travels up and down a mast, applying stretch film around a stationary pallet load, and the top sheet dispenser places a sheet over the top of the load. This article describes what the video shows and what to verify when specifying an arm wrapper with top sheet capability.

What the video shows

The video is a factory demonstration with background music and no narration, so the description below is based on visual observation of the footage, sampled frame by frame.

The machine

  • A gantry-style arm stretch wrapper with a yellow frame and a grey-white mast, enclosed by a white wire-mesh safety cage.
  • A rotating arm travels vertically along the mast and rotates around the load to apply film.
  • A top sheet dispenser is integrated into the arm assembly and places a clear film sheet over the top of the load.
  • A large roll of clear film is mounted on a vertical spindle beside the machine.
  • The load sits on a stationary pallet position on a conveyor system.

The load and the cycle

  • The load is a tall, rectangular stack of clear plastic bottles arranged in layers on a blue pallet.
  • The arm applies clear stretch film in a spiral around the load while the load stays in place.
  • The top sheet dispenser then applies a film sheet over the top of the load.

Controls and safety

  • A grey control box with a red button and a green indicator light is visible on the arm assembly, with a red emergency-stop button.
  • A yellow warning label is on the mast, and the machine is enclosed by a white wire-mesh safety cage.

Environment

  • The machine operates in a factory or warehouse with concrete floors and large windows; a person walks in the background during the footage.

Direct observation notes (from the frame analysis)

  • Gantry-style arm stretch wrapper: yellow frame, grey-white mast, white wire-mesh safety cage.
  • Rotating arm moves vertically along the mast and rotates around the stationary load, applying clear stretch film in a spiral.
  • Integrated top sheet dispenser applies a clear film sheet over the top of the load.
  • Load: tall rectangular stack of clear plastic bottles on a blue pallet, stationary on a conveyor position.
  • Clear film roll on a vertical spindle beside the machine.
  • Grey control box with red button and green indicator; red emergency-stop button; yellow warning label on the mast.
  • Factory/warehouse environment with concrete floor and large windows; a person walks in the background.

What the video does not show

  • Rated load weight, pallet dimensions, or load height.
  • Film and top sheet specifications.
  • Cycle time per load or arm speed.
  • Model number, power requirements, or control-system details.
  • Certification documents or maintenance requirements.

Why an arm wrapper with a top sheet is useful

An arm (rotary arm) wrapper wraps the load by rotating the film carriage around it, so the load does not need to turn. That is an advantage for heavy or unstable loads that should not spin on a turntable — the video shows the load staying in place while the arm travels up and down the mast.

The top sheet dispenser adds the second protection. A spiral film wrap covers the sides of a load, but the top is open unless a sheet is applied. For loads that need dust or moisture protection on top — bottle pallets, bagged products, and stacked cases — a top sheet closes the package. Combining the two on one machine means the load is wrapped and capped in a single cycle, without a separate top-sheet station.

What the demonstration implies for buyers

What the video supports

  • The machine wraps a stationary pallet load with a rotating arm, and an integrated dispenser applies a top sheet.
  • The load stays in place during the cycle, so heavy or unstable loads are not rotated.
  • Safety is part of the design: a wire-mesh cage, emergency stop, and warning label are visible.

What you should verify with the manufacturer

  • Load envelope: maximum pallet size, load height, and weight.
  • Top sheet: sheet dimensions and material compatibility, and whether the dispenser handles your film.
  • Film settings: film width, pre-stretch, and wrap pattern programmability.
  • Cycle time: time per load at your load height.
  • Integration: whether the stationary position works with your conveyor layout.
  • Safety compliance: guarding documentation and certifications for your market.

Questions to ask before you buy

  1. What pallet sizes and load heights does the machine handle?
  2. What top sheet dimensions and materials are supported?
  3. What film widths and wrap settings are available?
  4. What is the cycle time per load?
  5. Does the machine work with my conveyor layout?
  6. What safety features are standard?
  7. What documentation and after-sales support are included?

Source and method

This article is based on the demonstration video embedded above, which shows an arm stretch wrapper with an integrated top sheet dispenser. Frames were sampled from the video and analyzed with a local vision model so that the machine description is grounded in what is actually shown. The video contains background music only, with no narration. The derivative sections are analysis and should be confirmed against the manufacturer’s specifications.
