> A turntable pallet wrapping machine turns the loaded pallet while a film carriage rides up and down a mast, laying pre-stretched film round the load. Our A200 takes loads up to 1,800 mm high within a 2,000 mm turning diameter, pre-stretches the film at 250% and wraps 20–40 loads an hour. The operator places the pallet by forklift, ties on the film and presses start; the PLC does the rest.
On this turntable wrapper the load turns on an orange turntable beside a dark mast. A red photocell spot on the load marks where the carriage senses the load height, and the control panel with display and buttons sits on the mast. At the base, the film is gathered into a tight rope that ties the load to the pallet.

Operación paso a paso
1. **Load.** A forklift sets the pallet on the turntable from the front or rear. The turntable is low, so no ramp is needed for a forklift.
2. **Tie on.** The operator threads the film through the carriage (W threading pattern) and ties the film end to the pallet.
3. **Start.** The turntable starts softly. A photocell on the carriage finds the top of the load.
4. **Wrap.** The carriage lays the bottom, middle and top layers set on the panel, then returns to the bottom.
5. **Finish.** The turntable stops at its start position, the operator cuts the film, and the forklift takes the pallet away.
Wrap settings that matter
- **Bottom winds** lock the load to the pallet. Gathering the film into a rope at the base, as on the load above, adds strength where the load meets the deck.
- **Top winds** hold the top layer, and a re-wrap or overwrap adds a band where the load is weakest.
- **Overlap** is set by carriage speed against turntable speed. Both are adjustable, the turntable by frequency converter.
- **Pre-stretch** is set at 250%, with 100% to 300% as options. More pre-stretch gives more metres of film per roll. The force the film puts on the load is set separately by the variable force control between carriage and load, so light or fragile loads are not crushed.
Each layer can be set from 0 to 99 winds, and independent top, middle and bottom counters show what was applied.

Worked example: one pallet
Take a pallet of 1,200 × 1,000 × 1,600 mm and 900 kg, with 500 mm film at 50% overlap and 250% pre-stretch, 3 bottom and 3 top winds.

**Result.** The pallet fits the A200 by turning diameter, height and weight. The 20–40 loads an hour range means 3,600 ÷ 40 = 90 s to 3,600 ÷ 20 = 180 s per load. With 92 s of wrapping plus 45–60 s for forklift handling, tie-on and cut (illustrative), the cycle is 137–152 s, about 24–26 loads an hour. The top of the range needs fewer winds and smaller loads.

Seguridad: EN 415-6 e ISO 12100
Pallet wrapping machines are governed by EN 415-6, with the risk assessment to ISO 12100:2010. The turning load and the moving carriage are the hazards. The A200 has a red mushroom-head emergency stop, a lockable electrical disconnect and a European-approved electrical enclosure, and the turntable starts and stops softly so tall loads do not tip.
