Resumen ejecutivo
For pipe packing by coil wrapping machine, our FPH-500W passes stretch film, paper or woven tape through the eye of each plastic or rubber pipe coil, sealing the whole coil. Our FPH-500W takes pipe coils of 300–800 mm ID, 600–1,400 mm OD and 20–200 kg. A worked example works out the wraps, film and ring time for a 45 kg PE pipe coil.

Why pipe coils are wrapped
A strapped coil of PE, PEX or rubber pipe is still open to dust, UV and scuffing. Pipe for drinking water or gas must arrive clean inside and out, and coils sold through distributors need a tidy, labelled pack. Wrapping through the eye covers the whole coil and holds the turns together, so straps can be fewer or dropped.
Our blue and yellow pipe coil wrapper
Our wrapper is built on a welded steel frame with a fenced ring area. The pipe coil stands upright on driven support rollers, and the wrapping ring passes through the eye. Film runs from a roll on the ring through guide and tension rollers onto the coil. The rollers turn the coil slowly while the ring spins, so the film spirals all the way round.
A yellow mesh guardrail fences the ring area. The operator sets the coil in place, then steps back while the cycle runs.
Packing a pipe coil, step by step
- Carga. The operator rolls the coil onto the support rollers, with the ring through the eye.
- Atar. The film end is fixed to the coil.
- Correr. In automatic mode the ring and rollers start together, with a soft start.
- Envoltura. The film overlaps at the set rate until the coil has made one full turn.
- Detener. The machine stops automatically when the wrap is complete, and the reset function returns the ring to its home position.
- Descargar. The film is cut and the coil rolls off.
FPH-500W data
From our FPH-500W hose and pipe coil wrapper page:
| Parámetro | FPH-500W |
|---|---|
| DIÁMETRO INTERIOR DE LA BOBINA | 300 – 800 mm |
| bobina de OD | 600 – 1,400 mm |
| Ancho de la bobina | 150 – 400 mm |
| Peso de la bobina | 20-200 kg |
| Tiempo de envoltura | 28–40 s por bobina |
| Velocidad máxima del anillo | 100 r / min |
| superposición | 10-90% |
| Potencia | 3.5 kW, 380 V, 60 Hz, trifásico |
| Film | stretch film, core 50 mm, OD 100–140 mm, width 90 mm |
| Papel | core 50 mm, OD 200–450 mm, width 90 mm |
For lighter pipe coils up to 100 kg, the FPH-400W covers widths of 150–400 mm.
Worked example: a 45 kg PE pipe coil
Illustrative coil: PE pipe, ID 600 mm, OD 1,000 mm, width 300 mm, 45 kg, wrapped with 90 mm film at 50% overlap.
Comprobación de ajuste. ID, OD, width and weight are all inside the FPH-500W ranges.
Envolturas. Each wrap advances 90 × 0.5 = 45 mm along the ID circumference: π × 600 ≈ 1,885 mm. So 1,885 ÷ 45 ≈ 42 wraps.
Film per wrap. Round the coil section: 2 × (200 + 300) = 1,000 mm.
Película sobre la bobina. 42 × 1.0 m = 42 m, before stretch.
Ring time. At the 100 r/min maximum, 42 wraps take about 25 s, inside the 28–40 s per coil once loading and tie-on are added.
| Paso | Fórmula | Resultado |
|---|---|---|
| Anticipo por envoltura | w × (1 − overlap) | 45 mm |
| Envolturas | π × ID ÷ advance | 42 |
| Film on coil | wraps × 2 × (depth + width) | 42 m |
| Ring time | wraps ÷ ring speed | 25 s |
Overlap, tension and material
- Superposición. 50% gives a double layer everywhere. For dust cover only, a lower overlap saves film.
- Tensión. The tension device and the special brake on the film holder keep the film flat, without folding.
- Fricción. The drive friction between ring and wheel is adjustable, so the ring runs smoothly on light and heavy coils.
- Material. Stretch film for moisture, paper or woven tape for scuff protection, HDPE for both.

Seguridad: EN 415-10 e ISO 12100
We build the wrapper to EN 415-10, with an ISO 12100 risk assessment. The hazards are the ring passing through the eye and the driven support rollers. The guardrail fences the ring, and the ring starts and stops softly. Loading and tie-on are done with the ring stopped at its home position. The sensor layout, the roller surface for smooth pipe, and the safety circuit category for the guard are specified for your coils and market at quote.
Preguntas frecuentes sobre ingeniería
Q: Does the coil need straps before wrapping? A: Usually one or two ties keep the coil tidy while it is loaded. The wrap then holds the turns.
Q: Can it wrap rubber and hydraulic hose coils? A: Yes. The FPH-500W is designed for heavier rubber and hydraulic pipe coils as well as PE.
Q: How is the wrap stopped at the right point? A: The machine stops automatically when the coil has made a full turn, and the reset returns the ring to its start.
Q: Which standard applies? A: We design the wrapper to EN 415-10, and the CE risk assessment follows ISO 12100.
