Papierrollenverpackungsmaschinen: Lösungen für die Industrie

Executive summary

Paper rolls are heavy and round, and moisture, dust and crushed ends ruin them in storage and transit.

Our paper roll wrapper lays the roll on a turntable with powered cradle rollers. The table turns while the rollers spin the roll, so stretch film covers the body and both ends. This page covers how it works, a film-use check and what to send us for a quote.

The machine is a large low turntable with a pair of cradle rollers set into its deck, and a film carriage on a vertical mast beside it. The roll lies on its side across the rollers. As the turntable rotates, film from the mast wraps over the roll and its two ends.

At the same time the cradle rollers turn the roll on its own axis. Each pass lands in a new position until the whole roll is sealed in film.

Why paper rolls are hard to protect

Paper takes up moisture from the air, and the outer layers and edges absorb it first. A wet edge cockles and breaks on the printing press or converter. The ends are also where clamp trucks and stacking cause damage. A wrap that covers only the body leaves both weak points open.

Wrapping the roll lying down, with the ends covered, closes the roll against dust and humidity and holds the outer layers so the tail cannot unwind.

How the roll wrapper works

  1. Belastung: a forklift or crane sets the roll across the cradle rollers on the turntable.
  2. Anfang: the operator fixes the film tail to the roll and starts the cycle from the panel; tail clamping and cutting can be manual or automatic, confirmed at quote.
  3. Wickeln: the turntable turns, and the film from the mast passes over the roll body and both ends.
  4. Verzeichnis: the cradle rollers spin the roll slowly, so the next pass overlaps the last one.
  5. Finish: after the set number of turns, the film is cut and the tail wiped down.
  6. Entladen: the wrapped roll is lifted off; a Papierrollenwender can stand it on end for storage.

Entwurfspunkte

  • Two motions: turntable rotation and roller spin together give full coverage, ends included, without a person walking the film round.
  • Filmtransport: a powered pre-stretch carriage on the mast sets film tension; the height is set for the roll diameter.
  • Low deck: the low turntable makes loading by forklift or crane easy.
  • Rollengeschwindigkeit: roller speed against table speed sets the overlap; heavier overlap is used for export rolls.
  • Rezepte: turns, overlap and film tension are stored per roll size on the panel.

Turntable diameter, roll weight and size range, and wrapping time are matched to your rolls and confirmed at quote.

Turntable clearance and wrap indexing

Check: the roll must turn inside the table without hitting the mast. Roll length L and diameter D: diagonal √(L² + D²) + clearance ≤ turntable working diameter.

Nur ein Beispiel:

Artikel Wert (Beispiel)
Roll diameter D 1,000mm
Roll width (length) L 1,500mm
Diagonal √(1,500² + 1,000²) 1,803 mm
Clearance to mast Über 200 mm
Working diameter needed Über 2,000 mm
Filmbreite 500mm
Überlappung 50%
Advance per pass 250mm
Roll circumference π × D 3,142 mm
Passes for full coverage 3,142 ÷ 250 ≈ 13

Film length (estimate) = film needed per pass ÷ pre-stretch ratio × passes × layers. The real film use and cycle time are confirmed at quote.

Auswahl-Checkliste

  1. Roll diameter, width and weight range?
  2. Rolls per hour?
  3. Body only, or body and both ends?
  4. Number of film layers and film type?
  5. Loading by forklift, clamp truck or crane?
  6. Inline with conveyors, or standalone?
  7. Power supply at the site?

Sicherheit

We design roll wrappers to EN ISO 12100:2010 for risk assessment, EN 415-10 for packaging machine safety and EN 60204-1 for electrical equipment. The turntable zone is fenced or watched by sensors, and an E-stop is on the panel.

Häufig gestellte Fragen zur Technik

Q: Does it wrap the roll ends? A: Yes. Film crosses the ends on every turntable turn while the rollers index the roll.

Q: Can it wrap rolls standing on end? A: This design wraps rolls lying down. Rolls on end are wrapped on a turntable wrapper with a top sheet.

Q: Will the film mark the paper? A: No. Stretch film clings to itself and leaves no residue on the paper.

Q: Can one machine run several roll sizes? A: Yes, within its range, by recipe on the panel.
