Streszczenie
Hydraulic rubber hose ships as heavy coils, and the wrap must keep out dust and moisture and hold the coil shape until it is cut and crimped at the customer. Our hose coil wrapping machines pass a ring through the coil eye while rollers turn the coil, laying stretch film all round it. Two models cover coils from 500 mm to 1,400 mm OD. This page gives the specs, how the line works, the wrap maths and how to pick a model.
The system integrates an orbital ring gear traversing the coil eye, heavy-duty polyurethane-coated support rollers, and motorized conveyors. Operating inside interlocked safety guards, the machine delivers orbital film tensioning around flexible rubber or rigid wire-braided hose, producing tight, moisture-sealed packages ready for racking or overseas container transit.

Why wrap hydraulic hose coils
Hydraulic lines operate under extreme working pressures (frequently exceeding 280 to 420 bar). Ensuring finished assembly reliability requires addressing three critical packaging hazards during shipping and staging:
- Particulate & Moisture Contamination: Airborne dust entering unsealed hose bores leads to direct valve block abrasion and seal failures under ISO 4406 fluid cleanliness standards. A sealed, continuous stretch wrap envelope prevents environmental moisture and abrasive particulate entry.
- Cover Abrasion & Scuffing: Vibration during logistics causes outer rubber covers (EN 853 / EN 857 / SAE 100R series) to scuff against pallet walls and adjacent coils. Fully wrapped coils eliminate surface micro-cracking and carbon-black transfer.
- High Spring-Back Energy Control: Multi-spiral wire hoses (4SP/4SH) carry intense mechanical elastic memory. Unsecured coils can spring loose, posing severe handling risks and making warehouse stacking unstable. Controlled wrap tension restrains hoop tension, stabilizing outer dimensions for automated pallet racking.
Machine wrapping ensures precise, continuous tension control and consistent film overlap percentages, preventing film tearing during rough handling and maintaining barcode and traceability label visibility beneath clear outer layers.
Jak działa maszyna
The eye-through orbital packaging process executes through a sequenced PLC cycle:
- Podawanie: The hose coil moves onto the motorized roller workstation via gravity or driven roller conveyors. Dual conical side guide rollers center the coil over the support drive rollers.
- Thread & Ring Engagement: The orbital wrapping ring incorporates a high-precision cut opening segment (or hydraulic gate). Once the coil is positioned, the segment locks shut with mechanical and electrical safety interlocks, passing the rotating gear through the coil eye.
- Orbital Wrap Cycle: Dual driven polyurethane-sleeved support rollers rotate the coil around its horizontal axis. Concurrently, the orbital ring rotates, feeding LLDPE stretch film or composite paper through the inner eye. Overlap consistency is maintained via closed-loop VFD motor synchronization between coil rotation and ring rotational speed.
- Cięcie i zaciskanie: Upon completing programmed layer counts, a pneumatic cutter slices the film web, while an automated wiping press arm secures the tail against the coil body without operator manual threading.
- Wyjście: The integrated ejector or tilting roller transfers the packaged coil onto the downstream packaging line for automated tagging, scale weighing, or palletizing.

Wrap maths
Estimating film consumption, cycle duration, and overlap ratios uses straightforward toroidal kinematics.
1. Required Ring Passes per Layer
To achieve target film overlap at the outer circumference (where linear surface speed is highest), determine passes via outer diameter:
Effective Film Advance (W_eff) = Film Width × (1 − Overlap_ratio)
Ring Passes per Layer (N) ≈ (π × Coil OD) ÷ [Film Width × (1 − Overlap_ratio)]
Note on Toroidal Geometry: Because the coil inner diameter is significantly smaller than the outer diameter (Coil ID < Coil OD), film overlap at the inner eye will naturally be higher:
Overlap_ID = 1 − [ (Coil ID / Coil OD) × (1 − Overlap_OD) ]
Ensure inner eye clearance accounts for this concentrated film build-up.
2. Theoretical Wrapping Cycle Time
Cycle Wrap Time (seconds) ≈ (Total Passes N × 60) ÷ Ring Speed (r/min)
Przykład inżynierski:
- Wymiary cewki: OD = 900 mm, ID = 500 mm
- Film Spec: Width = 90 mm, Target OD Overlap = 50% (
Overlap_ratio = 0.5) - Prędkość pierścienia: 100 rpm
W_eff = 90 mm × (1 − 0.5) = 45 mmRing Passes (N) ≈ (π × 900 mm) ÷ 45 mm ≈ 2,827.4 ÷ 45 ≈ 63 passesNet Wrap Time ≈ (63 passes ÷ 100 r/min) × 60 s/min ≈ 37.8 seconds
Adding conveyor infeed, coil positioning, pneumatic cutting, and outfeed cycles (approx. 10–14 s) gives an overall cycle time of roughly 48 to 52 seconds per completed coil.

Często zadawane pytania dotyczące inżynierii
Q: Which model should be specified for 1,000 mm OD hydraulic hose coils? A: FPH-500 is the correct machine. It accommodates outside diameters from 600 mm up to 1,400 mm and coil payloads up to 200 kg. The FPCA-200H maxes out at 650 mm OD.
Q: Can the wrapper process colored or tinted film for inventory identification? A: Yes. Opaque blue, green, red, or black UV-inhibited films can be used without sensor recalibration. This enables immediate warehouse visual grading by pressure ratings (e.g., standard pressure vs. ultra-high pressure).
Q: Will driven support rollers leave scuff marks or dent the hose cover? A: No. Support rollers are vulcanized with high-grade, shore-A 85 polyurethane (PU) or non-marking synthetic rubber sleeves. Rotating speeds match film tension profiles to prevent scuffing, flat-spotting, or carbon-black cross-contamination.
Q: Can this wrapper link directly behind an upstream coiling and tying unit? A: Yes. Both FPCA-200H and FPH-500 can be integrated directly with automatic hose coilers and strapping machines via motorized indexing conveyors and upstream handshaking protocols (Profibus/Profinet/EtherNet/IP).
