Waarom handmatig slangwikkelen u geld kost

Samenvatting

Manual hose wrapping looks cheap because the only equipment is a roll of film. The cost sits in labour per coil, uneven film use, damaged or loose coils and a packing station that cannot keep up with the extruder. Our horizontal FPCA hose coil wrappers wrap a coil in 25–35 s with a set overlap. Below is a cost model you can fill in with your own numbers.

This horizontal wrapper lays the hose coil flat on rollers, with upright yellow guide rollers holding it in place. The ring on the blue frame passes through the eye and wraps the coil in clear film, leaving an even, tight pack.

Inhoudsopgave

The hidden costs of manual wrapping

Kosten Handmatig wikkelen Machinaal verpakken
Arbeid One or two people per station, every shift Operator loads and unloads; the ring wraps
Tijd per spoel Depends on the person and the coil 25–35 s per coil, repeatable
Film Overlap and tension vary, so film is over-used or gaps appear Overlap and tension set once
Verpakkingskwaliteit Loose or uneven packs, coils that open in transit Even, tight wrap on every coil
Lijnsnelheid Packing falls behind the extruder Wrapper matched to coil output
verwondingen Repeated bending and twisting round a coil Coil handled on rollers

The biggest cost is rarely the film. It is the people tied to the station and the coils that come back loose or damaged.

A cost model you can fill in

Use your own figures in these formulas.

Item Formule
Spoelen per ploegendienst extruder output per shift ÷ length per coil
Manual labour hours coils per shift × manual minutes per coil ÷ 60
Machine wrap hours coils per shift × machine seconds per coil ÷ 3,600
Labour saved per shift (manual labour hours − operator hours on the machine) × hourly labour cost
Film saved per coil manual film per coil − machine film per coil
Payback in shifts machine cost ÷ (labour saved + film saved + rework saved per shift)

Worked example: one shift

The inputs below are example assumptions, not measured figures. Replace them with your own.

Stap voor Assumption or calculation Resultaat
Spoelen per ploegendienst uitgegaan van 400 spoelen
Manual time per coil assumed 2 min 400 × 2 ÷ 60 ≈ 13.3 h
People needed in an 8 h shift 13.3 8 ÷ 2 personen
Wikkeltijd per spoel 30 s, inside 25–35 s alleen inpakken
Load, film start, cut and unload assumed 20 s 50 s floor to floor
Machine-uren 400 × 50 ÷ 3,600 ongeveer 5.6 uur
Machinebenutting 5.6 8 ÷ ongeveer 69%
Film per coil, manual assumed 30 g 12 kg per shift
Film per coil, machine assumed 22 g 8.8 kg per shift
Film saved 12 - 8.8 3.2 kg per shift

Resultaat. With these assumptions, two people wrapping by hand are replaced by one operator and one machine running about 69% of the shift, including handling time. The 25–35 s rating is wrapping time; coil staging and transfer are extra unless the wrapper is linked to an automatic handling line. Film saving is smaller than labour saving but adds up across shifts. Your payback depends on your labour cost and coil count, so run the model with your own numbers.

What a horizontal hose coil wrapper does instead

The coil lies flat on the roller table and the guide rollers centre it. The ring passes through the eye and turns while the rollers turn the coil, laying film in even bands at a set overlap. The FPCA-300 can wrap two layers of material, for example stretch film with optional paper.

Lying flat suits soft hose coils. The full face is supported, so the coil keeps its shape while it turns.

Selectie checklist

  1. Hose type, OD and length per coil.
  2. Binnendiameter, buitendiameter, breedte en gewicht van de spoel.
  3. Coils per shift and number of shifts.
  4. Current labour and film use per coil.
  5. Film only, or film with paper.
  6. Link to coiler and palletising.

Veiligheid: EN 415-10 en ISO 12100

The wrapper is built to EN 415-10, the general safety requirements for packaging machines, with the risk assessment done to ISO 12100. Warning signs alone are not enough for the turning ring. Perimeter fencing, interlocked guards or light curtains restrict access while the ring runs, and the guarding option is set for your layout and market. The coil is positioned before the cycle starts.

Veelgestelde vragen over techniek

Q: How long does the machine take per coil? A: 25–35 s per coil on the FPCA-200 and FPCA-300.

Q: Can the machine wrap paper as well as film? A: Yes. Paper is an option, and the FPCA-300 can wrap two layers.

Q: Does one operator run the machine? A: Yes. The operator places and removes the coil and starts the cycle; the ring does the wrapping. Whether the film start and cut are manual or automatic depends on the configuration, confirmed at quote.

Q: How do I work out payback? A: Use the cost model above with your coil count, labour cost and film use.
