Kokkuvõte

Wire and cable leave the line as one continuous length, and they ship as counted, tidy, wrapped coils. Our automatic coiling and wrapping machine meters the length, winds the coil, cuts it and passes it on to wrapping or shrinking, all under one PLC. It runs at line speeds up to 200 m/min and winds 2–2.5 coils per minute. This page covers the process, the data, how to match coil length to line speed, and what we need to quote.

The coiler sits directly behind the cable production line and takes the cable through the accumulator. At the coiler, a pneumatic pressing unit holds a red cable coil on the reel while it winds. The finished coil drops onto a roller conveyor and goes on to packing.

Sisukord

Why coil and wrap inline

Manual coiling gives coils of uneven length and shape, and a loose coil does not wrap or shrink neatly. An inline coiler counts the metres, keeps the tension steady and winds the same coil every time. The wrapped coil is then ready for the carton or pallet without a second handling step.

Kuidas liin töötab

  1. Pay-off or accumulator: the wire comes from the production line or a pay-off. An accumulator frame moves up and down to store spare length, so every section runs in sync.
  2. Mõõtmine: the meter counter measures the set length, from 0.01 m to 500 m.
  3. Keeramine: the reel winds the coil to the set OD under tension control; a pressing device holds the coil steady.
  4. Cut and transfer: the wire is cut and the coil is moved out by the hold-coil transfer, with two guards keeping it in place.
  5. Strap (recommended): a strapping unit ties the coil so turns cannot loosen.
  6. Wrap or shrink: the coil goes on to film wrapping or a shrink tunnel.

Coiler data

Kirje Automatic cable winding and packing machine
coil ID 140–250 mm (fixed per reel)
coil OD 200–600 mm
Mähise kõrgus 60–180 mm
Kaabli läbimõõt 2–20 mm
Liini kiirus kuni 200 m/min
Kerimiskiirus 2-2.5 mähist/min
Arvesti loendur 0.01-500 m
Õhuvarustus 6 baar
võim Vahelduvvool 380 V, 50 Hz, 3 faasi

A different reel is used for each coil ID. Heavier steel wire sizes and the wrapping unit are confirmed at quote.

Matching coil length to line speed

Coil time (min) = coil length (m) ÷ line speed (m/min).

Total cycle (min) = coil length ÷ line speed + cut and transfer time.

Length to store (m) ≈ line speed (m/min) × cut and transfer time (min).

The accumulator must hold at least this length; its stroke is the stored length divided by the number of wire loops between its sheaves.

The coiler must finish one coil, cut and transfer it, faster than the line produces the next length. If not, the accumulator fills. Example only: at 200 m/min and 2.5 coils/min, each coil is 200 ÷ 2.5 = 80 m. Shorter coils need a slower line or a second coiling head.

Valiku kontroll-leht

  1. Wire or cable diameter and type?
  2. Coil length, ID, OD and height?
  3. Line speed from the production line?
  4. Accumulator already in the line?
  5. Strapping before wrapping or shrinking?
  6. Wrap material: stretch film, shrink film or bag?

ohutus

We design coiling and packing machines to EN ISO 12100:2010 for risk assessment, EN 415-10 for packaging machine safety and EN 60204-1 for electrical equipment. The reel area is guarded and the alarm stops the line on a fault.

Inseneri KKK

Q: Do I need an accumulator? A: For a line that cannot stop, yes. It stores length while the coiler cuts and changes coil.

Q: Can I skip the strapping? A: The coiler winds neatly, but wire keeps some spring-back, and the outer turns can open up in the shrink tunnel. We recommend strapping first.

Q: How is the length set? A: On the HMI, in English, with the meter counter from 0.01 m to 500 m.

Q: Does it handle steel wire? A: Yes, within the diameter range; tension and reel are set for the wire.
