> The best door shrink wrap machine is the one sized to your doors: the widest leaf, the thickest frame and the number of doors per shift. A door shrink line seals PE film around each door and shrinks it tight in a hot-air tunnel, so the door ships clean and protected. Our equivalent solution covers doors up to 1,200–1,300 mm wide and 4,000 mm long. This guide shows how to size the sealer and tunnel, protect glass doors, budget power, and work out film and energy cost per door.
On this line the infeed conveyor takes doors placed by hand, here a white-framed door with glass panes and protective pads at the edges. The door indexes into the sealing section, where film from a large roll runs over a bank of guide rollers and covers it before the seal bar closes.
The sealed door transfers into a hot-air shrink tunnel, where the film shrinks tight over frame and glass, and leaves on a roller conveyor for stacking. A safety fence closes off the area behind the line.

What "best" means for a door line
A machine is right for you when three things match. It takes your largest door without forcing, it keeps up with your doors per shift, and it gives a tight, clear pack without marking the finish. A machine that is too small cannot be fixed later. A machine much bigger than you need wastes floor space and power every day. Start from your door list, not from a catalogue.
Sizing the sealer and tunnel
Two sizes decide the machine: the widest door and the thickest door.
| Door range | Sealer | Tunnel opening |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Up to 1,200–1,300 mm wide, 10–200 mm thick, up to 4,000 mm long | film 1,700 mm wide | W 1,500 × H 300 mm, L 2,500 mm |
| 700–1,100 mm wide, 20–100 mm thick | film width confirmed at quote | W 1,400 × H 200 mm, L 2,500 mm |
Leave room above the thickest door in the tunnel, so hot air flows over the top face. Door weight also matters: our sealer handles 10–100 kg doors on a working table about 800 mm high.
Protecting glass doors and frames
Glass doors and painted frames need care at three points:
1. **Edges and corners:** pads or corner protectors before sealing, so the film cannot cut in and the corners do not chip.
2. **Glass faces:** an even shrink, without overheating, so the film does not stick to the glass in patches.
3. **Exit:** pressing rollers flatten the film on all sides, and cooling fans set it before stacking.
Shrink film of 40–100 micron covers most doors, and 30–150 micron is available. Heavier, glass-filled doors need the thicker end. The sealer runs PE film and industrial standard shrink films, on a permanently heated, PLC-controlled seal bar rather than an impulse wire.
Power and air budget
Plan the supply before the machine arrives:
| Item | Sealing part | Shrink tunnel |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Power | about 5.5 kW | about 30–37 kW, by tunnel size |
| Compressed air | 6–8 kgf/cm² (about 0.6–0.8 MPa) | n/a |
| Velocidad de la cinta transportadora | aproximadamente 0–12 m/min | aproximadamente 0–8 m/min |
| Tunnel temperature | n/a | 100–220 °C |
The tunnel is most of the load. Insulation and air recirculation keep the heat inside, which lowers the running cost. Air consumption per cycle is confirmed at quote.
The sealer conveyor runs faster than the tunnel. It indexes the door quickly through the seal zone so the bar can close behind it, then hands over to the steady tunnel speed.
Film and energy cost per door
**Doors per hour = tunnel speed × 60 ÷ door pitch. Energy per door ≤ tunnel power ÷ doors per hour.** Take a 2.1 m door on a 2.6 m pitch at 8 m/min with a 30 kW tunnel (example):
| Comprobar | Cálculo | Resultado |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Doors per hour | 8 × 60 ÷ 2.6 | about 184 |
| Energy per door, at full power | 30 ÷ 184 | about 0.16 kWh |
| Film length per door, per roll | door pitch | 2.6 m |
The tunnel does not run at full power once it is hot, so real energy use is lower. Multiply film length by film width and thickness to get film weight per door, then use your film price.
Which machine type
| Type | Fits |
| :--- | :--- |
| Automatic sealer plus shrink tunnel | steady door volume, full protection |
| Sealer with motion sealing | long doors and panels sealed on the move |
| Economic door shrink packing machine | lower volume, smaller budget |
| Sealing only, no tunnel | dust protection inside the plant |
Lista de verificación de selección
Haga estas preguntas antes de comprar:
1. What is the widest, longest and thickest door it takes?
2. How many doors per hour at my door length?
3. What film thickness does it run?
4. What power and compressed air does it need?
5. Can it take doors straight from my line, in auto and manual feed?
6. What spare parts and seal blades come with it?
Seguridad
The machine is designed to EN ISO 12100:2010 for risk assessment, EN 415-10 for packaging machine safety and EN 60204-1 for electrical equipment. The hot seal bar and the tunnel are the main hazards. A safety fence closes off the area behind the machine, and the seal bar has anti-cut protection. Guarding and CE documents are agreed per project.
Preguntas frecuentes sobre ingeniería
Q: What size doors can it pack?
A: Up to 1,200–1,300 mm wide, 4,000 mm long and 10–200 mm thick on the larger model.
Q: How many doors an hour?
A: Tunnel speed × 60 ÷ door pitch. At 8 m/min and a 2.6 m pitch, about 184.
Q: How much power does it need?
A: About 5.5 kW for the sealer and 30–37 kW for the tunnel.
Q: Will it mark glass doors?
A: Not with edge pads, an even shrink and pressing rollers at the exit.
Q: Do I need the tunnel?
A: For a tight, transport-ready pack, yes. Sealing alone keeps dust off inside the plant.
