Klebebandbindemaschine: Funktionsweise und Anwendungen

Executive summary

A tape binding machine closes a carton by putting paper or film tape bands around it instead of plastic straps. For large, flat cartons such as panel furniture, the bands hold lid and base together without denting the board edge. This page covers how the arch-type binder works, the tape it takes, and how to estimate tape use per carton.

A large flat carton runs on rollers under an orange arch. The tape head lays a band across the carton, the carton indexes forward, and a second band goes on. Each band is pulled tight and sealed on itself, and the shipping label on the lid stays clear.

Why tape instead of straps

PP straps under high tension cut into carton edges, and on a thin flat carton they crush the corner. A wide paper or film band spreads the load over more board, so the edge stays square. Tape bands are also easy to cut at the receiving dock and are recycled with the carton when paper tape is used. Bands are placed between label areas, so labels and barcodes stay readable.

How the binder works

  1. Einspeisung: the carton comes in on the roller conveyor and stops at the first band position.
  2. Festhalten: a top press holds the carton flat so the band sits tight on the lid.
  3. Band: the tape runs around the carton through the arch, is tensioned and sealed.
  4. Verzeichnis: the carton moves to the next position and the cycle repeats for 2 or 4 bands.
  5. Auslauf: the banded carton leaves on the rollers.

Tape and machine data

Artikel FHOPE tape binding machines
Anzahl der Bänder pro Karton 2 oder 4
Tape width (box tape wrapper) 24 – 48 mm
Tape length per roll (box tape wrapper) 50–200
Tape roll (tape wrapping and sealing machine) Außendurchmesser 80–120 mm, Innendurchmesser 76 mm, Breite 30–60 mm
Bandtyp selbstklebendes Klebeband
Speed (box tape wrapper) 2 s per lap
Conveyor in-feed and out-feed roller conveyor

The compact box tape wrapper takes cartons up to 400 mm wide and 300 mm high. The large arch for flat furniture cartons is sized to your carton, and arch size, speed, carton weight and press force are confirmed at quote.

Klebebandverbrauch pro Karton

Tape per band = carton perimeter around the band + overlap. Tape per carton = tape per band × number of bands. For a band around a carton 600 mm wide and 100 mm high, the perimeter is 2 × (600 + 100) = 1,400 mm, so with 100 mm overlap one band uses 1.5 m. Two bands use 3 m, and a 200 m roll covers about 66 cartons (example only). Count roll changes per shift from this before you choose tape length.

Auswahl-Checkliste

  1. Carton length, width and height range?
  2. Cartons per hour?
  3. 2 or 4 bands, and where are the labels?
  4. Paper tape or film tape?
  5. Inline with a carton erector or stand-alone?
  6. Floor space for in-feed and out-feed?

Sicherheit

We design tape binders to EN ISO 12100:2010 for risk assessment, EN 415-10 for packaging machine safety and EN 60204-1 for electrical equipment. The arch, the top press and the seal head are the main hazards; guards and E-stops cover them.

Häufig gestellte Fragen zur Technik

Q: Will the band damage the carton edge? A: Wide tape spreads the load, so the edge stays square at normal tension.

Q: Can it band cartons of mixed sizes? A: Yes, within the arch size; the top press adjusts to carton height.

Q: Paper or film tape? A: Paper tape recycles with the carton; film tape takes more moisture.

Q: How many bands are typical? A: Two bands suit short cartons; four bands keep long flat cartons from opening at the ends.
