Kokkuvõte
High, top-heavy and mixed loads are hard to wrap safely on a spinning turntable. A rotary arm pallet wrapper leaves the pallet stationary and orbits the film carriage around it, removing the centrifugal forces that destabilize tall loads. We build rotary arm wrappers for distribution and production lines where load height and shape vary by the day. Pallet format and wrap pattern are confirmed per project.

Why wrap a stationary pallet
A turntable wrapper spins the whole load, and that rotation is exactly the problem for tall or irregular stacks. The load must first survive being flung around, then hold its shape afterwards. A rotary arm machine keeps the pallet still and moves the film instead, so a tall column of mixed cartons is wrapped as it stands. For distribution facilities running mixed-SKU lanes, that is the difference between a stable pallet and a re-stack on the floor.
How the rotary arm wraps
The film carriage rides on an arm that orbits the stationary pallet, applying stretch film as it travels around the load. Each orbit lays a full ring of film, and the carriage indexes up or down so film builds over the full load height. The load itself never turns, so there is no centrifugal loading and no need to brace the pallet against rotation. Operators work around a fixed load, which simplifies loading and unloading.
Stability with top-heavy loads
The design is a direct response to high center-of-gravity loads. Loads that overhang the pallet or stack unevenly are the ones that shift, tilt or collapse under turntable rotation. On a rotary arm machine the wrap force works through tension on the film, not through spinning the load. Layered film holds every stack tightly together, even when the top is wider than the base. That containment is what protects the load through conveyor travel and transit.
Film carriage and tension
Film is applied through a carriage with controlled pre-stretch, drawing the film out before it reaches the load so containment comes from tension rather than film weight. Consistent tension across the full height keeps tall stacks rigid at the top and the bottom, and a low pre-stretch setting would force film overuse, so the film plan is tuned per SKU. The carriage settings are stored as recipes and recalled when the load pattern changes.
Joone integreerimine
Because the pallet stays put, the machine drops into conveyor and production lines cleanly. Loads convey into the wrap zone, wrap while stationary, and convey out at the same level, which matches automated material flow without rotating stations in between. The arm and the conveyor share one control sequence, so mixed-SKU lanes run without an operator re-setting the machine for every load.
Automated conveyor-integrated units run on 380 V three phase, while standalone light machines can run on 220 V single phase, selected per project.
Selection and configuration
Sizing follows the loads you actually run. Pallet footprint sets the wrap envelope, load height sets the carriage travel, and mixed-SKU volume sets the recipe and throughput needs. The machine is configured per project for the load range and the line, confirmed against your pallet format and clearances. If the lane changes later, the recipe system is where the change lands first.

Töötamine ja ohutus
Load the pallet, recall the recipe and start the wrap from the panel. Keep clear of the arm travel zone while it runs. The arm path is guarded, and interlocking plus emergency stops sit at the operator positions. Routine checks cover the arm drive, film carriage, conveyor and safety devices, per the machine manual.
Inseneri KKK
Q: Why keep the pallet stationary? A: Rotating a tall or irregular load creates centrifugal forces that shift or collapse the stack; a rotary arm wraps the load as it stands.
Q: How is film applied? A: A carriage on the orbiting arm lays a film ring per orbit, indexing up or down to cover the full load height.
Q: What about top-heavy loads? A: Containment comes from film tension rather than load rotation, so tall and overhanging stacks are held tightly.
Q: Does it integrate with a conveyor? A: Yes, loads convey in, wrap stationary, and convey out on the same level.
Q: How are patterns changed? A: Film and wrap settings are stored as recipes per SKU and recalled from the panel.
