Resumen ejecutivo
A big horizontal stretch wrapping machine wraps long, heavy loads such as pipe bundles, profiles and panels as they pass through a rotating ring. Our E1000 has a ring of 1,000 mm inner diameter, a ring speed of about 10–60 r/min and conveyors running at 3–12 m/min, with overlap set from 10% to 90%. For a 6 m bundle of 600 × 600 mm we pair it with 6 m powered roller conveyors on each side.
A square bundle of blue plastic pipes runs on the conveyor through the ring of the wrapping station, inside a yellow mesh guard. The film goes on in a spiral, and the bundle leaves fully closed, pipe ends included.

What a big horizontal wrapper does
Long loads cannot stand on a turntable. In a horizontal wrapper the load lies on a conveyor and moves through a ring, and the ring carries the film roll around it. The conveyor speed and the ring speed together set how far the load moves on each ring turn, and so the overlap of the film spiral. The result is a closed, tight wrap that holds the bundle together and keeps dust and water out.
Sizing the ring to the bundle
The ring inner diameter limits the bundle cross-section. A rectangular bundle turns inside the ring by its diagonal, so the check is the diagonal, not the width:
Diagonal = √(W² + H²), which must be smaller than the ring inner diameter with working clearance for the film carriage. The radial margin is (ring ID − diagonal) ÷ 2; the clearance your film carriage needs is confirmed at quote.

Wrapping station and conveyors
- Anillo. Reinforced aluminium ring up to 60 mm wide on a strong frame, driven by a geared motor. Ring and driving wheels can be changed easily.
- Ring control. Speed set by inverter, soft start and stop, ring jog, and automatic return to the start position.
- Film carriage. Motor tension control for a tight wrap; tension adjusts to the package size.
- Transportadores. Driven by geared motors with inverter speed control. The conveyor structure protects the product surface.
- Control: PLC and touch screen. Ring speed, roller speed, package size and the wrap program are set on the screen. A photocell sets the wrapping start position, and extra wraps at the head and the end are set on the screen.
- Vigilando. A protection shield covers the moving parts.

Worked example: 6 m pipe bundle
Take a bundle of 600 × 600 × 6,000 mm wrapped with 250 mm film at 50% overlap and a ring speed of 40 r/min.

Resultado. About 72 s and 115 m of film per bundle in one spiral layer, plus the extra head and end wraps. Raising the ring speed to 60 r/min gives 7.5 m/min and about 48 s per bundle.

Seguridad: EN 415-10 e ISO 12100
Horizontal stretch wrappers are packaging machines other than pallet wrappers, so they are covered by EN 415-10, with the risk assessment to ISO 12100:2010. The turning ring and the conveyor nips are the main hazards. The station is guarded or closed by a light curtain, and a protection shield covers the moving parts. Guarding and CE documents are agreed per project.
