A 180° sheet turnover machine—also called a plate flipping machine—turns steel and metal sheets from one face to the other without lifting them off the line. Instead of swinging the load on a crane and risking the face and the edge, the machine feeds the sheet into a rotating ring, grips it, and turns it in place: the ring rotates 180° and the sheet comes out on its other face. Why Use a Turnover Machine Instead of a Crane
Flipping a sheet with a crane is slow and risky for the sheet: the load swings as its weight shifts over the edge, and the edge that takes the load can chip or dent. A turnover machine removes the swing and turns the sheet in place.

The machine is built for production: it flips the sheet in a repeatable cycle that can be synchronised with the stations upstream and downstream.
How a Ring-Type 180° Turnover Machine Works
The machine uses a large ring frame carried on rollers in a heavy base. The sheet is loaded into the open centre of the ring, gripped, and the whole ring—with the sheet—rotates about a horizontal axis. After a 180° rotation the sheet is on its other face at the same height, ready to leave:

Because the sheet turns inside the ring, both faces are protected: the load does not swing, the edge is not forced against a hard pivot, and the sheet never slides across the floor or another sheet.

A custom machine is sized to your product. The variables the manufacturer needs are the same whether the part is a steel plate, a stainless sheet or a metal sheet for further forming:
