What the slide table does

In this video, our tilter turns a coil 90°. The coil sits in a V-shaped cradle with two faces at right angles. As the body rotates on its base, the load moves from one face to the other, so it is always supported.

The slide table controls an outward, horizontal movement. It moves the working surface out of the turning body, which makes it easier to move the coil on and off the machine. The operator stays away from the turning position, and a crane or forklift can reach the coil more easily.

Typical uses are steel, wire and cable coils, and moulds. We turn coils to the position the next step needs, such as storage, packing or transport.

Check three limits before you choose this tilter:

外径。 The coil OD must fit the 1,400 mm limit.
宽度。 The coil width must fit the 1,200 mm limit.
重量。 The coil must not be over 5 t.

For example, an illustrative wire coil of 1,200 mm OD, 1,000 mm wide and 3 t fits all three. A 1,600 mm OD coil does not, so we would size a larger customised tilter.

Tilt time and coils per hour

Our standard 5 t coil upender, FPCT-05, takes 50–90 s per turn. That gives a quick upper bound:

At 50 s per turn: 3600 ÷ 50 = 72 turns per hour.
At 90 s per turn: 3600 ÷ 90 = 40 turns per hour.

The body turns one way, so it usually returns empty before the next coil. Then one coil needs two turns, or 100–180 s, which gives 20–36 coils per hour. Loading and unloading come on top of this, so plan your crane or forklift cycle with the tilt time. The inverter sets the turning speed, so we can slow it for sensitive coils.
