Each forklift trip from the production line to a stand-alone wrapper and back adds handling time and a chance to knock a corner. Wrapping them by hand on a large footprint is slow, and the tension changes from one side to the other.<\/p>\n<p>Our online wrapper sits in the conveyor line itself. The infeed conveyor, the turntable and the outfeed conveyor are at one height, so the load rolls through without lifting. A forklift only places the stack at the start and takes it away wrapped at the end.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how\">How the online wrapping cycle runs<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Infeed.<\/strong> The loaded pallet rides the infeed conveyor onto the conveyor turntable. A double-chain drive moves it into the wrapping position.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hold.<\/strong> The pneumatic top plate comes down on the stack. It keeps light or loose panels from shifting as the turntable starts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wrap.<\/strong> The turntable turns while the film carriage travels up and down the column. A sensor measures the load height, so the carriage turns back at the top of each stack.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cut.<\/strong> The optional pneumatic film grab and cut system clamps and cuts the film tail, ready for the next load.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outfeed.<\/strong> The top plate lifts, and the wrapped load rolls onto the outfeed conveyor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Wrapping layers and zones are set on the OMRON PLC, so the bottom and top of the stack can take extra turns.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"circle\">Turning circle: fitting a big load on the turntable<\/h2>\n<p>A turntable wrapper turns the whole load, so the corners sweep a circle. Its diameter is the diagonal of the footprint. That circle, not the pallet length, sets the clearance to the column and fencing.<\/p>\n<p>We build the B200 with an 1,800 mm or 2,000 mm turntable. A load can overhang the turntable as long as it sits stably on the conveyor rollers. Film carriage speed and conveyor transfer time are matched to your line when we quote.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"example\">Worked example: a 2,000 \u00d7 1,200 mm panel stack<\/h2>\n<p>Take a stack of panels 2,000 mm long, 1,200 mm wide and 1,500 mm high, weighing 1,600 kg. These are illustrative customer figures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weight.<\/strong> 1,600 kg is inside the standard 2,000 kg turntable capacity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turning circle.<\/strong> The diagonal is \u221a(2,000\u00b2 + 1,200\u00b2) = 2,332 mm. On a 2,000 mm turntable, the corners reach (2,332 \u2212 2,000) \u00f7 2 = 166 mm beyond its edge. The column clearance must allow for that circle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turns.<\/strong> With 500 mm film and 50% overlap, each turn climbs 250 mm. The stack needs 1,500 \u00f7 250 = 6 turns up and 6 down. With 2 extra turns at the bottom and 2 at the top, that is 16 turns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wrap time.<\/strong> At the top speed of 12 r\/min, 16 turns take 16 \u00f7 12 = 1.33 min, or 80 s. At 6 r\/min they take 160 s. To climb 250 mm per turn at 12 r\/min, the carriage must travel 250 \u00d7 12 = 3,000 mm\/min.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Loads per hour.<\/strong> Wrapping alone caps output at 3,600 \u00f7 80 = 45 loads an hour. The real figure is 3,600 \u00f7 (80 + t), where t is the conveyor transfer, press and cut time of your line.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Film.<\/strong> Each turn covers a perimeter of 2 \u00d7 (2,000 + 1,200) = 6,400 mm. So 16 turns lay about 102 m of film on the stack.
