Chains drop from both ends of the beam and sling a large black welded steel frame.<\/li>\n<li><strong>0\u20132 s:<\/strong> the frame starts at a steep incline and begins to roll.<\/li>\n<li><strong>2\u20135 s:<\/strong> the frame keeps turning towards horizontal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>5\u20139 s:<\/strong> the frame is almost flat and is lowered towards the floor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On-screen captions name the machine type and typical work: steel structures, foundry flasks and cast machine-tool beds. The clip shows part of a turn, not a full 180\u00b0.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"why-not-chains\">Why sheet stacks need clamping, not slings<\/h2>\n<p>A welded frame is one rigid body. Chains can roll it, because nothing inside the frame can move.<\/p>\n<p>A stack of steel sheets is different:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The sheets can slide on each other.<\/strong> In a sling, the stack can fan out as it passes vertical.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thin sheets bend<\/strong> where a chain bears on them, and the edge marks stay.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Coated or polished sheets scratch<\/strong> where they rub on chain links.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So for sheets and plate stacks, the load must be clamped as one block for the whole turn.
