The times below follow one roll through four stations:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>0\u20134 s, infeed and film.<\/strong> The roll enters the sealing section and the film is drawn over it. A photocell detects the roll and sets its position, so each roll starts at the same point.<\/li>\n<li><strong>4\u20138 s, sealing.<\/strong> The operator starts the cycle on the touch screen. The sealer closes the film around the roll on all sides, so the package is fully closed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>8\u201316 s, shrinking.<\/strong> The sealed roll moves into the shrink tunnel. Chains with rotating silicone-coated rods carry it through, so the roll turns and the film shrinks evenly around the whole circumference.<\/li>\n<li><strong>16\u201320 s, discharge.<\/strong> The finished roll leaves the tunnel, tightly wrapped, and the operator takes it off.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The rotating rods matter for round products. A roll lying still on a flat belt would see heat mainly from above and the sides. The tunnel oven size is set by the product length, and its opening must clear the largest roll diameter. Our carpet packing machine version uses PE film, a sealing height up to 450 mm, and adjustable sealing width.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"film-sizing\">Film sizing: start from the roll circumference<\/h2>\n<p>A round roll needs film that reaches all the way around it, plus a seal margin. We size the film in three steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Circumference<\/strong> = \u03c0 \u00d7 diameter. A 310 mm roll has a 974 mm circumference. A 400 mm roll has a 1257 mm circumference.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Folded film width.<\/strong> With centre-folded film, each side covers half the circumference: 487 mm for a 310 mm roll and 628 mm for a 400 mm roll, before the seal margin.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check against the machine.<\/strong> Compare the folded width plus seal margin with the film the sealer takes. A 400 mm roll needs about 141 mm more per side than a 310 mm roll, which is why we build the film system for the roll diameter, as on the line in the video.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Roll length sets the other direction. The PLC controls and detects the seal temperature, so it stays constant between rolls. The seal width is adjustable for different products.<\/p>\n<p>Two settings decide the final package:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Seal temperature.<\/strong> It must melt the film layers into one seam without burning through. We set it for the film type and thickness on the touch screen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tunnel temperature and speed.<\/strong> The film must reach shrink temperature over the full roll. A slower conveyor gives more time in the heat, and a faster one gives more rolls per hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The constant-temperature sealing system suits PE and other industrial shrink films. POF gives a clear, glossy package, and PE is the stronger film for heavy rolls.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"line-integration\">Line integration for carpet and mat rolls<\/h2>\n<p>The machine can run alone or as part of a production line. Infeed has two modes, auto and manual. The front feed speed is adjustable, so it can match the line ahead and the shrink tunnel behind.<\/p>\n<p>We deliver the shrinking machine as a single unit or as a complete line. Options include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A stacker for finished rolls, or a stacker for pallets.<\/li>\n<li>Sealing stations that turn the roll.<\/li>\n<li>Assembly stations before packing.<\/li>\n<li>A shrink tunnel sized to the product length.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"utilities-and-layout\">Utilities and layout<\/h2>\n<p>Plan the floor and supply before the machine arrives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Power:<\/strong> 380 V, 50\/60 Hz, 3 phase, with 10.5 kW consumption on the standard machine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Air:<\/strong> clean compressed air at up to 0.5 MPa (5 bar).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Height:<\/strong> a working height of 780\u2013820 mm, to match the conveyor ahead.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Length:<\/strong> the tunnel oven size depends on the product length, so the layout follows your longest roll.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"safety\">Safety on a carpet roll shrink line<\/h2>\n<p>The heat sealer and the hot tunnel are the main hazards. The sealing section in the video has a clear hinged cover, and the control panel has a red emergency stop. Keep the tunnel exit clear when you lift rolls off.<\/p>\n<p>The standards that apply depend on the destination market. For larger rolls, such as the 400 mm rolls in this video, we build the line for that diameter.<\/p>\n<p>Q: How do I work out the film width for my roll?\nA: Multiply the diameter by \u03c0 to get the circumference, then halve it for centre-folded film and add a seal margin. A 310 mm roll needs at least 487 mm per side.<\/p>\n<p>Q: Why does the tunnel use rotating rods and not a flat belt?\nA: The silicone-coated rods turn the roll as it passes through the tunnel. Heat then reaches the full circumference, so the film shrinks evenly with no loose spots.<\/p>\n<p>Q: Can the machine use PE film as well as POF?\nA: Yes, if the seal temperature is set for PE.
