The wrapping head above it carries the paper or film roll on a ring that passes down through the eye and back up round the outside. As the ring turns, the rollers turn the coil slowly, so the wrap moves round the whole coil.<\/p>\n<p>Paper goes on first, as a layer against the steel, and stretch film goes over it to hold the paper and keep moisture out. A paper layer and a film layer on each coil both have to fit in that time at the wrapping station.<\/p>\n<p>For a high-output slitting line, the two layers can be split over two stations, so each one has the full takt. Anyone near the turning ring, the coil on the rollers or the rail is the move to design out. We fence the wrapping station and keep the rail clear, so coils move between stations with nobody beside them.<\/p>\n<p>Stop, isolate and lock out the station before anyone loads paper or film, frees a coil or reaches through the coil eye. The fail-safe PLC holds the stop circuit.<\/p>\n<p>The standards that apply depend on the destination market.
