Above the coil sits a set of yellow and green rubber rollers, and a white label roll feeds in from above. A small control unit with a display stands at the conveyor end.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>0 to about 6 s.<\/strong> The conveyor is empty. Three people stand to the left, clear of the station.<\/li>\n<li><strong>About 9 s.<\/strong> A large dark-grey ring coil arrives at the centre of the station and stops.<\/li>\n<li><strong>About 12 to 21 s.<\/strong> The coil starts to turn, the upper rollers close on it and light-blue film wraps around the coil section. The label strip feeds through its guide rollers at the same time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>About 24 to 33 s.<\/strong> Wrapping continues until the coil is fully covered, then the upper mechanism makes its finishing stroke.<\/li>\n<li><strong>About 36 to 42 s.<\/strong> The wrapped coil stands at the end of the conveyor next to a weighing scale.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 id=\"station\">What an inline coil wrapping station does<\/h2>\n<p>An inline coil wrapper sits in the conveyor line, so coils arrive, are wrapped and leave without a crane or fork-lift move. At 35 to 50 s per coil, 10 to 25 s remain for conveyor index, labelling and weighing. That fits one station when labelling runs during the wrap, as on the clip. On the clip the people stand to the left, clear of the station, while it runs. Keep everyone outside the ring area during the cycle. Stop, isolate and lock out the station before anyone threads film, changes a label roll or clears a jam.<\/p>\n<p>The standards that apply depend on the destination market.
