Yönetici Özeti Our economic orbital stretch wrapper is the hands-on member of the ring wrapper range: the operator loads, guides and finishes each bundle while the ring and conveyors do the wrapping. It takes bundles up to 200 mm across and longer than 1,500 mm. A worked example checks whether a rectangular bundle fits the ring and sets the ring speed for the overlap.

What “manual” means on this wrapper

On a fully automatic line, bundles arrive, wrap and leave with nobody touching them. On this wrapper a person stays at the infeed. The ring still turns under motor power and the conveyors still drive the bundle, but loading, guiding and finishing are done by hand.

That keeps the machine simple and the price low. It suits workshops that wrap a few hundred bundles a day rather than a continuous line.

The operator’s part of the cycle

1. Yük. The operator lays the bundle on the entrance conveyor, square to the ring.
2. Kılavuz. As the front end enters the ring, the operator steadies the bundle so it runs straight.
3. Start the film. The film tail is tucked or taped to the bundle on the first turns.
4. Finish. At the far end the operator cuts the film and presses the tail down.

This model has no automatic film cutter, so the cut is done by hand. The S300 below adds one.

What the machine does on its own

The ring is driven by friction wheels, with an inverter to set its speed. It starts softly, and its start point can be reset so the film carriage stops in the same place each cycle. Film tension is adjustable, and the ring takes different packing materials.

The entrance and outlet conveyors have motors with gear boxes and inverter speed control. Their rollers are covered in PU so they do not mark the product surface. Overlap can be set anywhere from 10% to 90%.

Worked example: will a rectangular bundle fit, and how fast to run

Take a bundle of battens 140 mm wide and 120 mm high, 2,400 mm long. These are illustrative customer figures. We assume 120 mm film on a 50 mm core, as our S300 uses; tell us yours.

Uygun. The bundle runs straight through the ring while the film carriage circles it, so the ring must clear the corners. Measure the diagonal, not the width. The diagonal is √(140² + 120²) = 184 mm, inside the 200 mm limit. A 160 × 140 mm bundle would measure 213 mm across the corners and would not fit.

Overlap and speed. At 50% overlap the bundle advances 60 mm per ring turn. At the 100 r/min ring maximum that is 6 m/min on the conveyor. The conveyor cannot run below 4 m/min, so the ring must turn at least 4,000 ÷ 60 = 66.7 r/min to hold 50%.

At 70% the ring would have to run faster than its maximum, so 50% to 60% is the practical range with 120 mm film.

Time and film. At 6 m/min the 2.4 m bundle passes in 24 s, or 40 turns. The perimeter is 2 × (140 + 120) = 520 mm, so one layer along the bundle takes about 40 × 0.52 = 20.8 m of film. The extra start and end wraps the operator adds come on top, as does the load and cut time.

When to step up to the S300

Our S300 takes bundles up to 300 mm across and from 1,000 mm long. It adds a PLC with a touch screen, support rollers that stop the product shaking, and an automatic film clamping and cutting device. Choose it when the operator’s cut time limits output, or when bundles are larger than 200 mm across the corners.

We design this wrapper to EN 415-10 for packaging machines, with an ISO 12100 risk assessment. Because the operator works next to the ring, the turning ring and the in-running conveyor rollers are the main hazards. A guardrail protects the ring. The operator keeps hands on the bundle outside the ring opening while the ring turns.
