## What the video shows

The video is shot on a factory floor and follows one machine through its working cycle. At the start (roughly the first 10 seconds), a wide static view shows the complete machine: a white painted steel frame, an orange bridge crane overhead, and an open control cabinet on the right with visible circuit boards and wiring. Workers move in the far background but are not part of the sequence yet.

From around 12 to 18 seconds, the camera moves close to the winding zone. Black corrugated HDPE pipe is fed into a roller clamping mechanism, and a worker in blue workwear and white gloves steps in to adjust or guide the pipe and set its tension. Between roughly 21 and 33 seconds, the pipe is wound continuously into a tight ring-shaped roll. The coil diameter grows visibly, the camera tilts down to show the guide rails and support structure beneath, and the pipe then exits through a guide roller wrapped with green tape. The worker then lifts a complete finished coil with both hands and carries it away, while a second, empty star-shaped rotating clamping head waits nearby (around the 36-second mark). A close-up at about 39 seconds shows the pipe passing through a silver pneumatic clamp with a small parts label.

From roughly 45 seconds onward, a second wide view reveals the machine’s most important feature: **two symmetrical star-arm winding heads** mounted side by side, each with about 8–10 extendable metal arms. The right head is winding pipe at high speed while the left head stands empty. Around 57–66 seconds, the operator fixes the pipe end onto the winding head, the automatic clamping arms close, and winding proceeds. Shortly after, the left head starts rotating as well, so **both heads run simultaneously**. The final frames show the pipe forming a solid cylindrical coil, pressed tight at the center axis.

## Direct observation notes

* White painted steel frame; sections show signs of oil and wear from use.
* Upper section: multiple silver rollers and pressure rollers for clamping, guiding, and applying tension.
* Middle: a large winding drum with visible spiral grooves or anti-slip texture.
* Left side: a multi-arm star-shaped rotating clamping head with retractable jaws; on the twin-head view, each head carries roughly 8–10 arms.
* Right side: a control cabinet shown open, containing terminal strips, a PLC module, and a power module.
* Separate control console at the lower left with a color touchscreen showing a graphical interface, plus two or three physical buttons below and indicator lamps on the cabinet top.
* Pneumatic components visible: silver cylinders with blue air lines; one clamp carries a printed label reading “EY-2540P”.
* Product: black matte HDPE pipe, smooth and uniform surface; the coil stays concentric, with no loose or off-center winding observed.
* No readable safety signage, warning labels, watermarks, or machine nameplate appears anywhere in the footage.

## The winding process, step by step

1. **Feeding.** Pipe enters the machine from the side, passes over guide rollers, and is held by the roller clamping mechanism.
2. **End fixing.** The operator manually attaches the pipe end to the winding head’s center axis; the arm clamps then close automatically.
3. **Winding.** The star-shaped head rotates at high speed while the arms keep the pipe evenly layered. Rollers apply steady tension so the coil stays dense and concentric.
4. **Output.** The finished coil slides out through a guide roller at the bottom outlet toward the next station.
5. **Unloading and reset.** The worker lifts the coil off manually and sets it aside; the machine resets and the second head continues winding without stopping the line.

This alternating two-head pattern is the core value of an “online” coiler: **the extrusion line upstream does not have to stop** every time a coil is finished. One head winds while the other is emptied, then the roles switch.

## What the video does not show

The footage demonstrates function, not specifications. The following are **not observable** and must be confirmed directly:

* Rated capacity (meters per hour, coils per shift, coil weight)
* Minimum and maximum pipe diameter, wall thickness, and coil length
* Cycle time per coil and changeover time between pipe sizes
* Motor power, air pressure, and voltage/frequency requirements
* Machine dimensions and weight
* PLC brand and HMI software details
* CE, UL, or other certification marks
* Maintenance intervals and spare-parts lists
* Whether automatic cutting, strapping, or stacking is included (none appears in the video)

* Pipe diameter range and how changeovers between sizes are done
* Whether winding tension is adjustable, and over what range
* Coil diameter, width, and weight limits per head
* Whether the machine can be linked to your extruder’s speed automatically
* Available safety options: guards, interlocks, light curtains, emergency stop layout
* Automation add-ons: auto cutting, coil strapping, or unloading assistance

## Frequently asked questions

**Is the machine fully automatic?**Feeding, tension control, and winding run automatically, and the two heads alternate so the line keeps moving. However, the video shows an operator fixing the pipe start and lifting finished coils by hand. Fully automatic unloading is not shown — check with the manufacturer.

**How tight and uniform are the coils?**The footage shows dense, concentric coils with no loose or eccentric winding, which the report attributes to steady roller tension. Actual coil quality on your material depends on tension settings — confirm adjustability with the manufacturer.

**Can it handle different pipe sizes?**Only one pipe size is demonstrated. Whether arms or clamps must be exchanged for other diameters, and how long that takes, is not shown — verify with the manufacturer.

Keep roller surfaces and guide paths clean of pipe dust and residue — the video shows visible oil and dust marks on a used machine, which is normal but should be monitored. Check pneumatic cylinders and air lines for leaks, since clamping depends on them. Confirm the recommended lubrication and inspection schedule with the manufacturer, as no maintenance data appears in the footage.
