This full automation solution can handle the entire process of bundling steel pipes, strapping the bundles, handling and out-feeding them, with only one operator required:

Automatic bundling:

• Individual steel pipes are fed into the line from a buffer

• A wrapping unit applies stretch film to sequentially group a set number of pipes into a bundle

• An adjustable mandrel or frame shapes the film to securely contain the bundle

• The film is cut to complete each bundle

Automatic strapping:

• The bundled pipes are conveyed to a strapping machine

• Steel straps are applied around the bundle, typically in an overlapping X pattern

• A tensioning system tightens the straps to securely restrain the bundle

• The strap ends are sealed to complete the binding

Automatic handling:

• Grippers or clamps pick up the strapped bundles

• An articulating robot or conveyor maneuvers the bundles for storage, palletizing or truck loading
