The person’s job is loading the coil and starting the run. ## What to verify with the manufacturer 1. **Coil envelope** — maximum OD, ID, width, and weight. 2. **Film spec** — supported film widths and stretch ratio. 3. **Wrap settings** — number of layers and tension control. 4. **Cycle time** — coils per hour at your size. 5. **Safety** — fence, emergency stop, light curtains, and certifications. 6. **Support** — spare parts, service, and training. ## Buyer questions **What coil sizes fit the machine?**Confirm OD, ID, width, and weight against your mix. **Can the wrap count be changed per coil?**Ask how layers and film tension are set. **Is film loading easy?**Ask about reel change time and whether splicing is needed. **What is the cycle time?**Ask for coils per hour, including coil loading. **What safety equipment is included?**Confirm the fence, emergency stop, and certifications. **What maintenance does the machine need?**Typical checks cover the shaft, rollers, film guides, and controls. Request the schedule and wear-part list. ## Maintenance and safety notes * **Check the rollers weekly.** Worn or dirty rollers change film tension and cause uneven wraps. * **Keep the film path clean.** Dust and debris on guides affect stretch quality. * **Inspect the fence.** The yellow cage is the main guard; confirm it stays closed during the run. * **Confirm the emergency stop.** The video does not show one; ask where it is and test it. * **Center the coil.** A coil that sits off-center on the shaft wraps unevenly and stresses the drive. * **Log settings per product.** Different coil sizes may need different layers and tension. ## Why an economic wrapper earns its place The machine’s value is in the ratio of cost to consistency.
