Why wrap hose and pipe coils
Coils of PVC hose and flex pipe leave the line unwrapped, so dust settles on the surface and the layers can shift in storage. A film cover keeps the coil clean, holds the layers in place and gives the pallet a neat, consistent look before dispatch.
Packing to order length and coil size is handed over in a single transparent layer, so staff can still see the product label. Coil diameter and film grade are confirmed per project.
What the orbital wrapper does
The machine is a ring-type orbital wrapper. A coil sits on the rotating platform, and a ring arm carries the film around the outside of the coil while the platform turns the workpiece. The two motions cover the full face of the coil, not just the rim, and the film is pulled tight as it winds.
An operator feeds the start of the film into the ring at the beginning and cuts the film edge at the end, so the rest of the cycle runs by itself. Wrap direction and film width are confirmed per project.
Ring arm, film roll and rotating platform
The wrapper has a painted metal frame with a rotating platform at the bottom, a ring arm above it and a film roll at the top of the machine. The ring arm holds a set of guide rollers that lead the film down onto the coil as the arm turns.
The platform carries the coil and turns it so the wrap stays even across the face. The machine runs the arm and the platform together, and the film is guided onto the coil with a steady tension. Platform speed and film width are confirmed per project.
Winding pass and film cut-off
The wrap starts when the operator presses the film end against the coil and the ring begins to turn. The arm circles the coil while the platform rotates, so one pass lays a continuous layer across the face.
When the wrap is complete, the machine stops and the operator presses the film edge flat and cuts it off with a hand knife. The wrapped coil is then lifted from the platform as a unit. Pass count and film overlap are confirmed per project.

Operação e segurança
Place the coil centrally on the platform and feed the film end into the ring before starting the cycle. Keep hands clear of the ring arm and the film path while the arm turns, and stand away while the platform rotates.
Watch the wrap from a safe position, then press the film edge flat and cut it off only when the machine has stopped. Follow the warning decal on the frame and the routine checks in the machine manual for the platform, ring rollers and film feed.
