Draadwikkelmachine voor staaldraad of koperdraad

Samenvatting

A wire wrapping machine, more precisely a wire coil wrapping machine, packs a steel wire or copper wire coil by passing a ring of film, paper or woven tape through the coil eye while the coil turns on rollers. The wrap seals out dust and moisture and holds loose turns in place. Our FPW-300 takes wire coils of 10–250 kg, OD 450–850 mm and width 100–300 mm. Heavier or thin-gauge copper coils move to the horizontal FPC-300.

On the upright design, a copper wire coil stands on drive rollers while the ring carries blue woven tape through the eye. A yellow guard frame encloses the wrapping zone. Steel wire coils run on the same machine. A related draadspoelwikkelmachine uses the same eye-through principle.

Inhoudsopgave

Why steel and copper wire coils are wrapped

Wire coils travel and sit in storage for weeks. Steel wire rusts when moisture reaches it, and copper wire tarnishes and marks easily. A full eye-through wrap closes the coil against dust, air and moisture. It also keeps the outer turns from loosening when the coil is handled by crane or forklift.

How eye-through wrapping works

The coil stands on powered support rollers that turn it slowly, positioned so the wrapping ring runs through the coil eye. The ring rotates and lays the packing material around the coil section. Each ring turn covers one band of the coil, and the coil rotation moves the next band under the ring. The overlap between bands is set to the requirement.

The ring height is adjusted for different coil ODs. A brake on the tape release stops the material from folding. The operator enters coil OD, ID, width, weight range and ring speed at the panel, and the machine runs in manual or automatic mode.

Steel wire vs copper wire: what changes

punt Steel wire coil Copper wire coil
Belangrijkste risico Rust from moisture Tarnish and surface marks
Typisch materiaal Stretch film, compound paper or woven belt Woven tape, paper or stretch film
Behandeling Robust; upright wrapping on rollers works well Soft; heavy or thin-gauge coils need full support
Machine FPW-300 (upright) FPW-300 for light wire coils; FPC-300 (horizontal) for heavier or narrow strip coils

Copper is soft. A heavy copper coil standing on two rollers bears its weight on a short arc and can deform. The horizontal FPC-300 lays the coil flat on a conveyor, so the full face is supported. It wraps copper strip as narrow as 8 mm without bending it.

Worked example: will the coil fit?

Take a wire coil with OD 700 mm, ID 450 mm and width 100 mm, wrapped with 100 mm tape at 50% overlap. The weight below treats the coil as solid metal, so it is an upper bound; a wound wire coil weighs less.

Stap voor Berekening Resultaat
Ring face area π/4 × (0.70² − 0.45²) 0.226 m²
Volume 0.226 × 0.10 0.0226 m³
Steel, upper bound 0.0226 × 7,850 ongeveer 177 kg
Copper, upper bound 0.0226 × 8,960 ongeveer 202 kg
Fits FPW-300? 10–250 kg, OD 450–850, ID 300–700, width 100–300 ja
Mean circumference π × (700 + 450) ÷ 2 ongeveer 1,806 mm
Vooruitgang per ringomwenteling 100 mm × 50% 50 mm
Ring draait 1,806 50 ÷ over 36
Section perimeter 2 × (125 + 100) 450 mm
Band per spoel 36 x 0.45 m over 16 m

Resultaat. Both the steel and the copper version fit the FPW-300. The coil needs about 36 ring turns and 16 m of tape. Wrap time is ring turns divided by ring speed. Total cycle time is loading, plus wrap time, plus clamping and cutting the tape tail, plus unloading. For example, 36 ring turns at 60 r/min take 36 s of wrapping before handling is added. The ring speed range and loading method are confirmed at quote with your output target.

Selectie checklist

  1. Wire material: steel, copper or other.
  2. Coil weight, OD, ID and width range.
  3. Packing material and overlap.
  4. Spoelen per uur.
  5. Loading: crane, forklift or conveyor.
  6. Labelling or strapping after wrapping.

Veiligheid: EN 415-10 en ISO 12100

The wrapper is assessed to ISO 12100 and built to the packaging machine safety series EN 415-10. A guard frame closes the ring zone, and the E-stop is on the panel. Guarding is set for each layout.

Veelgestelde vragen over techniek

Q: Can one machine wrap both steel wire and copper wire? A: Yes, within the FPW-300 range of 10–250 kg. Heavier or narrow copper coils go to the horizontal FPC-300.

Q: Which material protects best against rust? A: A full eye-through wrap in stretch film or compound paper seals the coil. The choice depends on storage time and climate.

Q: Can the overlap be changed? A: Yes. The overlap is set to the requirement at the panel.

Q: What power does the FPW-300 need? A: 1.5 kW at 380 V 50 Hz 3 phase.
