Avvolgitore orbitale in alluminio

Sintesi Aluminium profiles scratch, stain and pick up fingerprints long before they reach the customer. Our economic orbital stretch wrapper seals single profiles and small bundles in a spiral of film, on PU-covered rollers that do not mark the surface. It takes bundles 50 to 200 mm across and longer than 1,500 mm. A worked example sizes a 6 m bundle of square tube, its weight, its support and its wrap time.

Sommario

What aluminium surfaces need from a wrap

Anodised, powder-coated and mill-finish profiles all mark easily. Rubbing against each other in a rack leaves scuffs, and water trapped between bare profiles leaves white stains on the metal.

A tight spiral of stretch film keeps profiles apart from their neighbours and keeps water out. The rollers matter too. On our wrapper they are covered in PU, so the profile rides on a soft surface in and out of the ring.

Loading and wrapping a profile

  1. Load. The operator lays the profile or bundle on the infeed roller table and pushes it to the ring.
  2. Inizio. The operator presses start at the control column. It carries the emergency stop, the push buttons and the status lights.
  3. Avvolgere. The ring turns round the profile as the conveyor carries it through, laying film at the set overlap.
  4. Su. The wrapped profile runs out on the outlet rollers, and the operator cuts the film and unloads it.

Single profiles or sub-bundles

Large window and façade profiles are often wrapped one by one, so each can be handled on site without unwrapping its neighbours. Small tubes and angles are usually grouped into sub-bundles first, then wrapped as one.

A sub-bundle must fit the ring by its diagonal, not its width. It must also stay square while it is wrapped, so tie it at the ends before it enters the ring.

Worked example: a 6 m bundle of square tube

Take six aluminium square tubes, 40 × 40 mm with a 2 mm wall and 6,000 mm long, bundled two high and three wide. Use 100 mm film at 50% overlap. These are illustrative customer figures.

Dimensione. The bundle is 120 mm wide and 80 mm high. Its diagonal is √(120² + 80²) = 144 mm, inside the 200 mm limit.

Peso. Each tube has a section of 40² − 36² = 304 mm². At 2,700 kg/m³, one 6 m tube weighs 0.000304 × 6 × 2,700 = 4.9 kg, so the bundle weighs about 29.5 kg.

Velocità. At 50% overlap the bundle moves 50 mm per ring turn. At the 100 r/min ring maximum the conveyor runs at 100 × 0.05 = 5 m/min, inside the 4 to 15 m/min range. The 6 m bundle takes 6 ÷ 5 = 1.2 min, or 72 s.

Film. The bundle perimeter is 2 × (0.12 + 0.08) = 0.4 m. It takes 6,000 ÷ 50 = 120 turns, or about 48 m of film laid on the bundle.

Supporting long profiles

The infeed and outlet conveyors are each 1,000 mm long. A 6,000 mm bundle hangs well past both ends at the start and finish of its pass, and a thin wall profile will bow under its own weight.

Add free roller stands in line before the infeed and after the outlet, at the same height as the conveyors. We size their number and spacing to your longest profile and send them with the machine.

Lista di controllo per la selezione: cosa inviarci

  1. Profile sections, and how many go in each bundle.
  2. Lunghezza minima e lunghezza massima.
  3. Surface finish: mill, anodised or powder coated.
  4. Pacchi per turno.
  5. Film or other wrap, and its width.
  6. Space for roller stands at each end.

Sicurezza e norma EN 415-10

The wrapper is built to EN 415-10, and we assess its risks to ISO 12100. On a profile line the hazards are the turning ring and the points where rollers draw the bundle in. A guardrail protects the ring, and the emergency stop sits on the control column. A long profile swings when it leaves the outlet rollers, so keep the unload area clear.

FAQ di ingegneria

Q: Will the film leave marks on anodised profiles? A: Stretch film peels off clean. Store wrapped profiles out of direct sun: UV breaks the film down, and its cling layer can then leave residue.

Q: Can one machine wrap single profiles and bundles? A: Yes, as long as each fits 50 to 200 mm across the corners.

Q: Can it wrap profiles shorter than 1,500 mm? A: Not on this model. Our S200, a compact semi-automatic orbital wrapper, takes products from 300 mm long.

Q: What standards do you build it to? A: EN 415-10 covers the wrapper as a packaging machine; the hazards are assessed under ISO 12100.
