Turntable versus ring-style wrapping
Two wrapper geometries are easy to confuse, and this video settles the question clearly.

Stretch film does its work around the outer surface of the load. On a pallet of cartons, that surface is where layers can slip, where labels catch on conveyor edges, and where dust settles during storage.
A multi-layer wrap, applied up and down the load, presses the outer rows against the rest of the stack. The film also holds the top layers so the stack does not telescope when the load is lifted or moved. What the film cannot do is fix problems that start at stacking, so a leaning stack or a weak pallet stays a problem no matter how well the wrapper runs.
That is why the wrapping recipe matters. How many layers are applied, whether the bottom and top get extra turns, and how much the film is pre-stretched all change the final result. Those settings are adjustable on modern wrappers and are the numbers to confirm when you compare quotes.
