Two jobs: film and strap
Film and strap do different work on a timber bundle. The film layer seals the faces, keeps moisture and dirt away from the wood, and holds the surface together. The strap carries the real clamping load, holding the stack square so it does not loosen on the truck.
Running both on one line means the bundle is wrapped and strapped in a single pass instead of being moved twice.
Cómo funciona la línea
The bundle moves on a conveyor through a rotating film ring that wraps the full length in an overlapping spiral. Downstream, a strapping unit applies one or more tensioned bands across the bundle, tensions them to a preset limit and then joins the strap ends. Strap count and spacing are selected per project from bundle length and transport dynamics. Film first, strap second, at consistent tension every cycle.
Film layer: what it carries
- Film width and pre-stretch are set to the bundle; pre-stretch elongates the film before application so each roll covers more timber.
- Overlap between spiral turns is set by ring speed against conveyor speed.
- End wraps lock the bundle ends so no profile edge catches on hooks or forks.
Strap: PET or steel

Strap tension is preset so it holds the stack without crushing the bundle edges. The joint is made by friction welding for PET or with metal seals for steel banding.
Preparación del paquete
Square the bundle before it enters the line. Even ends wrap cleaner and strap more squarely, which matters because a strap that sits at an angle does half its share of the holding work. Keep the stack neat at the edges and the film thickness and strap spacing can stay consistent across the shift.

2. Orbital ring wraps the full length in film with end reinforcement.
3. Bundle indexes to the strapping station.
4. Strapping head tensions the band to the preset value and joins the ends.

Controles y seguridad
The panel stores a program per bundle type, with ring speed, conveyor speed, overlap and strap tension preset. Keep clear of the ring and the strapping head while they run, and keep guarding closed during operation. An emergency stop is fitted at the panel. Film threading and strap threading follow the machine manual.
