> An offline PVC pipe strapping and bagging line packs cut pipe away from the extruder. Pipes are loaded from stock, counted into a bundle, strapped and slid into a bag, all on one line that runs at its own pace, which suits plants where several extruders share one packing area. Our pipe bagger takes bundles of 180–250 mm from pipes of 20–65 mm and 3–6 m, at more than one bundle a minute. Below: offline vs online, how the line works, bundle sizing, and strapping choices.

Offline or online: which fits your plant
| Point | Offline line | Online line |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Position | separate packing area | directly behind one extruder |
| Feed | cut pipe from stock, by operator or loader | straight from the cutter |
| Pace | its own, set by packing demand | set by the extruder |
| Serves | several extruders | one extruder |
| Size changes | handled in the packing area, extruders keep running | change with the extruder |
Offline makes sense when one extruder alone cannot fill a bagger, when pipe is stored before packing, or when the extrusion hall has no room behind each line. Our pipe packing line is available in both online and offline versions.
How the offline line works
1. **Infeed.** Cut PVC pipes are laid on the infeed staging platform. The operator keeps it stocked and squares the pipe ends.
2. **Count and form.** The program counts pipes into the bundle and shapes it to the set diameter.
3. **Strap.** The strapping station binds the bundle at set points as it is conveyed through.
4. **Bag.** The strapped bundle passes into the bagging unit, where film is formed into a bag round it, sealed and cut.
5. **Outfeed.** Finished bundles leave for labelling and storage.
Pneumatic drives run on 5–7 bar air. Guard rails and covers surround the strapping and bagging units, and the machine carries a CE mark.
Datos de línea
| Artículo | Valor |
| :--- | :--- |
| Pipe OD | 20–65 mm |
| Pipe length | 3–6 m |
| Bundle OD | 180–250 mm (customisable 100–400 mm) |
| Peso del paquete | 5–50 kg |
| Output | over 1 bundle per minute |
| Bag film | PE, PP or HDPE, 30–80 micron |
| Strapping | LLDPE stretch film, or PP strap |
| Air | 5–7 bar |
| Pipe types | PVC, PPR, HDPE |
Worked example: sizing a bundle
Illustrative: 25 mm PVC pipe, 4 m long, in a hexagonal bundle with 5 pipes on each side.
| Comprobar | Cálculo | Resultado |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Pipes per bundle | 3n(n − 1) + 1, n = 5 | 61 pipes |
| Bundle width | (2n − 1) × d = 9 × 25 | 225 mm |
| Fits bagger? | 225 within 180–250 | yes |
| One extruder at 15 m/min | 15 ÷ 4 | 3.75 pipes per minute |
| Time to fill a bundle | 61 ÷ 3.75 | ≈ 16 min |
**Result.** One extruder fills a 61-pipe bundle only every 16 minutes, while the bagger can pack more than one a minute. That gap is why an offline line fed by several extruders, or from stock, uses the bagger far better than an online one.
Film strap or PP strap
Both stretch film strapping and PP belt strapping work on our machines. We usually recommend film strapping: it is more economical and holds the bundle round its whole circumference. Depending on speed and pipe length, the line has one, two or three film strapping stations. PP strap suits customers who already use it, or who want a strap that can be cut and re-tied on site.
Lista de verificación de selección
1. Pipe OD range, lengths and material.
2. Pipes per bundle or bundle diameter.
3. Bundles per hour, and how many extruders feed the line.
4. Film strap or PP strap, and number of strapping points.
5. Bag film type and printing.
Seguridad: EN 415-10 e ISO 12100
Packaging lines are built to EN 415-10, with the risk assessment done to ISO 12100. The hazards are the counting and forming mechanism, the strapping unit, the heated bag sealer and moving pipe ends. Guard rails and covers keep the operator at the infeed, away from the moving units.
Preguntas frecuentes sobre ingeniería
Q: Can one offline line serve several extruders?
A: Yes; that is its main advantage. Cut pipe from each extruder is stored on racks, and the infeed platform acts as the buffer. The operator stocks it with one size at a time, so the packing line runs full batches while every extruder keeps its own pace.
Q: Which pipe sizes fit?
A: 20–65 mm OD, 3–6 m long, in bundles of 180–250 mm (customisable 100–400 mm).
Q: Film strap or PP strap?
A: Both work; film strapping is usually more economical and grips the whole circumference, which suits smooth PVC pipe. PP strap is useful where the customer already uses it or wants to re-tie bundles on site.
Q: What bag film is used?
A: PE, PP or HDPE of 30–80 micron.
