Executive summary
Our new-design tyre wrapping machine stands the tyre upright on rollers and wraps film or tape through the bead and around the tread. The new design opens the ring at the top, so the tyre is dropped in and lifted out from above, and supports light tyres so they do not shake. Our FPT-200 takes car and motorcycle tyres of 510–800 mm OD at 18–30 s per tyre. A worked example wraps a 225/45R17 car tyre.

Why tyres are wrapped
A wrapped tyre reaches the shop clean, with its tread and sidewall free of dust and scuffs, and it shows the brand through the film or on a logo tape. For replacement tyres sold one by one, the pack is part of the product. Wrapping by hand means threading a roll through the bead again and again, and one person manages only a few tyres an hour.
What is new in the design
- Top loading. The ring is a C ring with an opening. After each tyre it returns to its start position with the opening facing up, so the operator drops the tyre in from above and lifts it out the same way.
- Kein Zittern. Light motorcycle tyres tend to wobble on the rollers. A cylinder-driven bracket supports the roller so the tyre runs steady.
- Logo tape. A logo tape covers the tyre OD at the same time as the wrap.
- Ring reset. The ring returns to its start position and resets automatically after each tyre.
- Soft start and stop. Inverters ramp the ring and rollers up and down.
Der Wickelzyklus
- The operator places the tyre upright on the rollers through the open top of the ring.
- The bracket brings the support roller in against the tyre.
- The ring turns through the bead while the rollers turn the tyre, laying film or tape in a spiral.
- At one full turn of the tyre, the ring stops at its start position.
- The operator lifts the wrapped tyre out from the top.
Automatic and semi-automatic modes are both available, and faults show on the touch screen.
FPT-200 and FPT-300 data

The film roller has a brake for setting the wrapping tension.
Beispielrechnung: ein 225/45R17-Reifen
Illustrative car tyre 225/45R17, wrapped with 100 mm tape at 50% overlap.
| Einblick in das | Berechnung | Lösung |
|---|---|---|
| ID (bead) | 17 × 25.4 | 432 mm |
| OD | 432 + 2 × 0.45 × 225 | 634 mm |
| Seitenwandhöhe | (634 − 432) ÷ 2 | 101 mm |
| Fits FPT-200? | Innendurchmesser 432 mm, Außendurchmesser 634 mm, Breite 225 mm | ja |
| Wickelt am Außendurchmesser | π × 634 ÷ 50 | 40 |
| Klingelzeit bei 120 U/min | 40 ÷ 120 × 60 | ≈ 20 s |
| Tape path per wrap | 2 × (225 + 101) mm | ≈ 0.65 m² |
| Tape per tyre | 40 × 0.65 m | ≈ 26 m² |
Ergebnis. The tyre fits the FPT-200, and 40 wraps at full ring speed take about 20 s, inside the 18–30 s range. Each tyre takes about 26 m of 100 mm tape. Raising the overlap to 70% closes the pack further but needs about 67 wraps. At 120 r/min that is about 33.5 s of ring time, beyond the 18–30 s rating, so high overlap means a longer cycle or wider tape.

Sicherheit: EN 415-10 und ISO 12100
We design the wrapper to EN 415-10 and assess its risks to ISO 12100. The turning ring and the rollers are the hazards. Guardrails cover the moving parts, and the ring starts and stops softly.
The operator loads only with the ring at its start position, and the touch screen shows any fault. Where needed we add an interlocked guard or a light curtain at the loading opening, so the ring cannot start while a hand is inside. Guards and CE documents are agreed per project.
Häufig gestellte Fragen zur Technik
Q: Can it wrap motorcycle tyres? A: Yes. The support roller keeps light tyres steady while they turn.
Q: Can the brand logo go on the pack? A: Yes, a logo tape covers the tyre OD during the wrap.
Q: How fast is it? A: 18–30 s per tyre on the FPT-200.
F: Welche Norm ist anzuwenden? A: EN 415-10 für die Maschine, mit ISO 12100 für die Risikobewertung.
