Why upend and turn a load

A coil or palletized load travels flat and often has to stand upright before the next process, or the other way round. Lifting and rolling a heavy load by hand is slow and risky. Upending and turning on a machine holds the load and changes its orientation in a controlled pass.

Doing the turn on a tilting platform removes the manual lift and keeps the load stable through the movement. Platform size, load weight and turning travel are confirmed per project.

Place the load flat on the platform, start the cycle from the control cabinet, and let the platform bring the work to the required position. Keep away from the platform and the guard opening while it is moving, and do not enter the guarded area during the cycle.

Routine checks cover the drive, the tilting platform and the control cabinet, per the machine manual. Confirm the load is seated on the platform before each pass.
