ملخص تنفيذي
A horizontal wrapping machine with timber on bottom wraps a long load and its timber blocks together, so the finished pack has its own skids for forklift entry and flat stacking. Our orbital wrapper with timber feeding places the blocks under the bundle and spirals stretch film around load and timber as one unit. This page covers timber spacing, ring sizing, film overlap and the buyer checklist.
Wooden blocks lie across the blue infeed conveyor, yellow guide arms centre the long load on top of them. Load and timbers then travel together through the orbital ring, where film is wound around the whole pack.

Why wrap the timber with the load
Long profiles, bars, tubes and panels have no feet. Laid on the floor, they cannot be picked by forklift, and stacked bundles press directly on each other. Timber blocks under the bundle lift it clear for the forks and spread the stacking load. If the blocks are loose, they fall out in handling; wrapped in with the load, they stay where they were placed.
دورة التغليف
- Timber in: timber blocks are laid across the infeed conveyor at set spacing; our timber feeding device can also place blocks and spacers at the top and bottom.
- Load on: the bundle is placed on the blocks and centred by the side guides.
- الغذاء: rollers that open and close automatically draw load and timber into the ring.
- طَوّق: the ring spirals stretch film around the bundle and blocks; inverters set the ring and conveyor speeds.
- Cut and out: in start-stop mode the blade cuts the film at the end of the pack, and the pack leaves on the outfeed.
A sensor stops the machine and warns the operator when the film roll runs out or tears, and the film roll can be reloaded in under one minute.

Ring size check
The timber adds height, so size the ring on the diagonal of bundle plus timber. On one of our horizontal sealing and wrapping lines the timber was 60 mm wide and 50 mm high. A 500 × 500 mm bundle on 50 mm blocks has a cross-section of 500 × 550 mm. Its diagonal is √(500² + 550²) ≈ 743 mm (example only). That passes inside the E1000 range of 400–1,000 mm, but not the E600 maximum of 600 mm. Check the largest bundle with its timber, not the bundle alone, and leave clearance for the film carriage inside the ring; that margin is confirmed at quote.
Timber spacing
Timber count = bundle length ÷ pitch + 1. A 6,500 mm bundle with blocks every 1,300 mm needs 6,500 ÷ 1,300 + 1 = 6 blocks (example only). Pick the pitch from how stiff the product is and the fork width of the trucks on site; soft or thin-wall profiles need a shorter pitch.
تداخل الفيلم
Film advance per ring turn = conveyor speed ÷ ring speed. At 6 m/min and 30 r/min the pack moves 0.2 m, or 200 mm, per turn. With 300 mm film that leaves 100 mm overlap, about 33% (example only). Slow the conveyor, or speed up the ring, for more overlap where the pack will be stored outdoors.
قائمة التحقق من الاختيار
- Bundle width, height, length and weight?
- Timber size, and timber at the bottom only or top as well?

- Film type: stretch film, paper or woven?
- Required output in packs per hour?
- Stacking or palletizing after wrapping?
سلامة
The machine is designed to EN ISO 12100:2010 for risk assessment, EN 415-10 for packaging machine safety and EN 60204-1 for electrical equipment. The rotating ring and the feed rollers are the main hazards, so the ring is guarded and the line has emergency stops at the operator stations.
أسئلة وأجوبة هندسية
Q: What products suit this machine? A: Long, straight products such as aluminium profiles, bars, stainless tubes and sheets.
Q: Can the timber go on the top too? A: Yes, the timber feeding device can place blocks and spacers at the top and bottom.
Q: How big a bundle can it wrap? A: The timber-feeding line handles up to 500 × 500 × 6,500 mm; check the diagonal with the timber included.
Q: What happens if the film breaks? A: A sensor stops the machine and warns the operator.
