Cartoning machines are stretch wrapper packaging methods which close, erect and or close, erect and fill carton blanks or folded away and area seam covered cartons.

Cartons are some of the commonest kinds of stretch wrapper packaging. But while they virtually all wind up in a regular half a dozen-sided sq or rectangular condition there are numerous of different styles which can be influenced through the filling and closing method. For instance, some cartons are loaded and sealed through the conclusion flaps; other people are packed vertically and sealed using a retract over ‘lid’. Other important distinctions range from the way of securing the carton in its erected type. Some are glued using adhesive; others have pre-cut tabs and slots. Alternatively, are pre-coated with a heat sensitive material. Some programs use window cartons – a carton having a pre-minimize location right behind which clear film has been repaired to permit the elements to become viewed.

Cartoners which fill, erect and seal on one machine are sometimes called Carton Develop, Load, Seal machines.

Some cartoning systems and machines are branded just like the Tetra Brik and “Combibloc” for liquids which can only be produced on these companies’ machines, although other branded styles like ‘crashlock’ cartons can be automatically erected on an array of machines.

Cartons are made from cartonboard which is a semi-versatile papers material 250&small; to one thousand&mini; in fullness. They should not be mistaken for Cases which are made of rigid corrugated table and are larger, often that contains a number of cartons for transportation.

If necessary, cartons can come in the form of blanks, which are flat, pre-cut and printed to shape and size, with slots and tabs pre-cut. These are generally then folded or ‘erected’ to create the carton within the wrapping machine.
